Tail of the Moon vol. 15,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tail of the Moon, Vol. 15 (v. 15) (Paperback)
The epic story has finally come to an end. Although the ending and story was good and left you feeling content, the initial problem of Hanzo's revenge plot was solved way too quickly in this volume (in the span of 2 pages). In the past two volumes Usagi has been trying to convince Hanzo of letting go of his thirst for revenge, and somehow one line from her in this volume quickly dismissed the thought of revenge from his mind. This volume pleases readers if they want a VERY happy ending (*SPOILER*: CHILDREN!!!!!), but if you wanted more depth in the storyline on how Hanzo's assassination attempt was thwarted, you won't find much creativity here. But the author manages to conclude all the details in this final volume with all the characters in the story, from Ranmaru's feelings for Usagi to the future lives of Usagi and her family.
What was also a nice bonus at the end of this volume was that the author added a story on Mamezo. This story had a REALLY big surprise/shocker, but it was also rushed. I'd give you the details, but you have to read it for yourself to believe it. Overall, GREAT ENDING TO A CLASSIC STORY.

Final Tail of the Moon,
By Christie S. (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tail of the Moon, Vol. 15 (v. 15) (Paperback)
The final volume to a fantastic series. Like the reviewers before me I found this book to be a little more fast pace than the rest but that's alright, most manga are at the end. All the problems and conflicts throughout the series have been solved, Usagi and Hanzo can finally live together in peace and their are a few nice surprises in the end. :3
***SPOILER*** I think the last three pages of the book are my favorite as Usagi leads Hanzo back to the tree they planted together for her. It was a very sweet nostalgic scene. ***END SPOILER*** This volume also includes an adorable little side story about Mamezo! It's super cute and also contains quite a surprise for reader. All in all this series was wonderful and I hope VIZ will liscence other titles by Rinko Ueda (all are just as good as Tail of the Moon).

This last book fo the sereies did not disappoint. Yes, it was very fast paced but it still added insight to the characters we have come to love (and/or question in the case of Ranmaru). Usagi has grown into a strong woman with a lot of wisdom and courage. Hanzo finds his balance in her, although he does give up on vengence a tad quickly. It could be that Usagi's willingness to forgive the enemy finally touched and began to heal his broken life. It was a fine ending.
Now, will someone put in English manga form the story of Hanzou and Sara? From what I have gleaned, that is a well told tale indeed. |
