I just burned 30 of these on my external DVD writer. I was using a Sony DVD-R discs from Costco before. Those seemed to work fine. I noticed with the Taiyo Yuden that although they were rated at 16 times burn speed, they would all burn at 20 times speed. This shows the spec quality of the manufacturer. You can buy the discount quality of discs for less; these are the ones that are at the end of the manufacturing run. But I am sticking with their best quality, at least their normal quality discs. Paid about 38 bucks for 100 and shipping was included. My discs were white printable. Highly recommend. The reviews are right. I want media that will hold up. It's hard to tell five years down the road or 10 years down the road which DVDs will still be standing, but if I based it on manufacturing specs I'd have to stick with Taiyo Yuden.

I've used Taiyo Yuden media exclusively for almost four years, after trying many other brands. This is the only brand which has produced zero coasters per 100 due to disc defects (yes, I HAVE ruined some myself, but that's another story!) Good, reliable, not too expensive--I'd recommend Taiyo Yuden discs to most hobby-oriented users. I haven't done high volume production, so can't comment on that use.

As a wedding photographer, delivering photos in an archival manner to customers is a critical component of my business and these discs have exceeded my expectations. The main selling point for me was the matte white coating on the top of the disc which is inkjet printable. Even though I don't print directly on the disc, these discs look absolutely beautiful when I apply printed labels to them and my clients have commented that they love the "look" of the final product. If you want a high quality and affordable alternative to discs such as Memorex and HP, these Taiyo Yuden discs are the way to go!

I've used about 60 of these so far and have had a 100% success rate burning at 8x or 16x. So far, no coasters at all. As for the print surface, I would describe it as "good, but not great". Using an Epson Artisan 710 to print with, the resulting printed disk is nowhere near photo quality, but it's good enough for most purposes. These have a matte finish, though I would have preferred glossy in retrospect.

What can I say best Dvd's out there. Can't go wrong with Taiyo Yuden. Never a bad disk. Will buy again.

I had very good sound and image quality results. Out of 100 discs I had two fail, much better than other DVD-R's I've used

My Dell DVD-RW drive can't read these, and a Google search turned up similar complaints from other Dell owners. On top of that, the Amazon Marketplace vendor I bought from wouldn't take them back because I'd opened the package. So now I have a big spindle full of coasters.

We are currently using 10 or so Taiyo Yuden products each week to copy our church's praise services to give to shut ins, etc. I have been using Taiyo Yuden products for 3 years...NO FAILURES! Hard to believe, isn't it. Excellent quality. Ink jet printed church logos and photos on CDs and DVDs has never been more vivid/impressive. Can you tell I'm sold on Taiyo Yuden products? A penny or two more for each disk is well worth the impressive quality. You want to get it done right the first time? Look no further.

Another good deal, these Taiyo Yuden disks are the most failproof of any I've tried and the printing surface is nice too.

Works great with Epson Artisan 810 printer, dependable burn, pro-quality, business ready.
