5.0 out of 5 stars Communion with God through simplicity...., July 18, 2007

This review is from: The Taize Experience (Hardcover)
I attended an interdenomintional Taize prayer service without knowing much about it. It was truly a treasure of community and fellowship among the Body of Christ. It was a service of simple repeated hymns set to simple music, Scripture readings, common prayer and silent prayer - the only light was that of candles. The repetition, the simplicity, the ease of the service was a wonderful invitation to seek and find God. Filled with beautiful pictures, this book explains where this powerful principle of simple communion with God comes from: The monks of Taize in Burgundy, France - especially Brother Roger. Their church is a church of reconcilliation attended by people from every corner of the world. Since I attended this service in Atlanta, I was encouraged that there could be such harmony in worship between so many denominations! May it continue in the Body of Christ forever!
