This saw is great! I was struggling with my regular hand saw, cutting a fresh cut on my Christmas tree and my wife gave me the saw and said "try this". It was like cutting through butter, especially on the back cut. It was amazing! I bought one for my two brothers.

Great all-around saw, especially useful for for hand trimming and cabinet work. Makes fast, straight, clean cuts with minimum effort in most kinds of wood (the hardest hardwoods are going to be a problem for any tool). Blades are nearly impossible to sharpen, but are easy and inexpensive to replace. If you only intend to own one handsaw, this would be a great candidate. The little utility knife it comes packaged with seems mostly unnecessary, but it doesn't hurt.

As a side note, and with apologies to any vegan carpenters out there, this is also a fantastic bone saw for the home butcher- just make sure you get a spare blade and keep it clean! Blades should be hand-washed and dried carefully, the handle can go in the dishwasher.

This saw is a must for any remodeler. Easily cross cuts through 2x4s square and clean. Great for flush cutting doorjambs and casings, it also cut notches in plywood. Don't leave home without it.
