Book Description

November 15, 2006
Terror and intrigue come to the Big Island! Two grisly murders point to Hawaii as the new home of the Red Summit terrorist organization. What a coincidence that Taka Matsuura, the famed Japanese cattle baron, recently moved his business there. A once thought dead ex-con with an expertise in mad cow disease and anthrax suddenly reappears in Waikoloa. Jotty, Jim, and Haruko become entangled in this almost unbearable suspense. An out of shape bureaucrat, a gun-slinging Texas cowboy, and a beautiful Japanese National Police investigator, are the FBI's new counter-terror team assigned to stop the Red Summit from their mad cow tainted plot. Will they suceed? Or does the sick genius of Taka scheme a more sinister end for them all? And just what is the significance of the lips?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read, May 17, 2007
This review is from: Taka (Paperback)
I truly enjoyed this bio thriller. It was a fast paced read with lots of interesting and unique characters. The plot had many twists and turns and would definitely make a good movie. If you enjoy Crichton style novels I would truly recommend reading this book.

I am looking forward to reading the next two in this trilogy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor prose; shallow characters, May 8, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Taka (Paperback)
I just finished this book, but it was a chore to finish 228 pages. The author's writing style has no art to it; the characters are one dimensional; the plot is minimally thought out and lacks depth (like the characters) and richness. There are no prosaic turns of phrase or rich descriptions. The reader does not develop an understanding of any characters thinking, motives, history, or essence and thus does not care about any character. Don't waste your time.
