These guys are definitely second tier characters. They appear as villians/bullies in several episodes. If your child makes up stories as he plays, he may want some villians in his set.
Other bad boy engines would include Diesel, and Diesel Ten. Diesels generally are cast as rivals to the coal powered "steamies". Salty is a "good" diesel, as is Mavis- a "female" diesel.

This was a must for my son, who loves these trains to play on his Take Along & Take N' Play track. I could not find these in the UK so ordered them from Amazon.com
They are an excellent addition to my sons growing collection, enabling him to make up stories with all his trains.

My grandson has a DVD about these two, but did not have them. He loved them. Let's him learn and talk about diesel engines along with steaming engines like Thomas. Nice that one has a beard and mustache so you can tell them apart.
