Grandma gave Cranky to my son for his 3rd birthday. He loves raising and lowering the crane. He plays with it all of the time and he is not gentle. I am very happy with the durability of this toy.

Bigger than I expected, which was good. The only problem is my toddler seems to disconnect the top extended part, but it is easily fixed by snapping it back into place. Other than that, he loves Cranky.

My son had this toy for a few hours before it broke the first time. Cranky's arm just popped off. It was easy enough to fix--it just snapped back on. So it was an on-going thing where my son would come running to me to fix Cranky. I didn't complain because it wasn't really broken, it just came apart and was easy to fix.

Well, one day (a couple of months after we got Cranky) when my son came running in for me to fix Cranky, I expected the same old thing where I'd snap it into place. It wasn't. Cranky had been decapitated and there was no fixing him this time. Even super glue would not fix dear old Cranky. So he had to go in the trash.

My husband was in the room when it happened and basically told our son to "Go see if mommy can fix it" because evidently, I have mommy super powers that daddy does not have. Mommy's super powers could not even heal poor Cranky. Out of curiousity, I asked my husband how Cranky got his head chopped off and he told me that our son dropped him--probably two feet off the ground.

A durable kids toy simply will not do that. That's why this review has this title. The Take and Play Thomas toys are like that though. I've seen better quality in those toys since Fisher-Price started manufacturing them. So, we as a family will continue to buy these toys.....probably would anyway because that's what my son loves.

Cranky the Crane came just as described. It shipped quickly and arrived when expected. My son played with it right out of the box with his other Thomas and friends toys.

It was a bit larger than I expected, but my son could not have been happier than when he opened the box!

If your little one loves Cranky like my son, this is a fun toy. It is durable to last through a 3 yr old and his 18 month old sister. Yes it is plastic so the durability and longevity is questionable, but so far so good and the price is right. Good buy!
