5.0 out of 5 stars 7Seconds is BACK!!!!!!!!, February 10, 2005
This review is from: Take It Back Take It on Take It Over (Dig) (Audio CD)
This 7Seconds cd is even better than i expected, and i had high expectations
after seeing them at the '99 warped tour!
17 tracks - and 12 of those tracks come in under 2:00, and 8 of them under 1:30.
if you want fast melodic punk w/ clean vocals, this is it! current bands seem
to have lost interest in that art. 20 years in the biz, and
kev seconds still has the stuff!
maxeen, MMBT, flogging molly & 7seconds are label mates (Side One Dummy Records) now that's a dream tour.

5.0 out of 5 stars 7 Seconds are back with their best disc yet!!!, March 5, 2005

After more than 20 years of blending hardcore with good melodic pop hooks, Kevin and the boys return with a new studio album that will have every older punk reminiscing about the days of youth and screaming for unity, while the younger ones will finally see where some of their favourite bands draw a huge influence. Songs of unity, changing the world, brotherhood and even about growing older while maintaing the positive attitude that 7 Seconds has become renowned for. Fast, catchy, and short songs. 17 tracks in just under 30 minutes. Some of my favourites include "Meant To Be My Own", "My Band Our Crew" & "Breaking News". Amazing job. Thanks for giving the fans a disc that's so brilliant and sets a positive attitude. This IS what punk rock is!

Before writing this review Amazon asks if you're over 13. Listening to this cd makes this 38 year old man feel 13 again. I loved early seven seconds but tuned out when their new wind album came out. This one was finally the follow up walk together rock together deserved.

If you like the crew and walk together rock together then you will want to get a copy of this one too.

this is one of their best records. it's good from start to finish. if you are an old fan, don't worry, this album is in the same style of the crew, but it's more powerful because of the recording. hopefully they have another tour and record in them. saw them on this tour with the groovie ghoulies and i couldn't stop playing their records for weeks because they are still so good live.

5.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't get much better than this, February 3, 2007
This review is from: Take It Back Take It on Take It Over (Dig) (Audio CD)
The 90's where the best years for this type of punk rock/hard core. No one is doing it this well anymore. 7 Seconds still have it. Just as punk as they ever were. Great album and a must for any hard core fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank GOD for Kev. Seconds, October 15, 2005
This review is from: Take It Back Take It on Take It Over (Dig) (Audio CD)
I picked this album up on a whim while thumbing through some CD's while in Japan on a port visit. I wasn't sure what this album was going to be like and I was affraid I might be waisting my money but it turns out that this album is full of the kind of energy that 7 Seconds can be known for and it really took me back to the old days. This ranks right up there with Walk Together/Rock Together. Positive lyrics coming straight from the heart and soul of Kevin Seconds. 7 Seconds have produced some albums I'm definently not a fan of...but they always were willing to do something different even if it meant making annoying punk-poppy albums. On this album they definently have gone back to their roots and this is the type of music that makes 7 Seconds shine. I saw these guys play at Top of the Rock in Grand Rapids,Michigan when I was a kid (1986 maybe)and this album really takes me back to when the hardcore scene was in it's prime and pure and full of energy and only five bucks at the door. Not sure what the scene is like out there these days, but with albums like this coming out, I'm sure there is still plenty of positive in today's hardcore scene. Kevin, I hope you get on here from time to time just to see what people have to say about your albums...if you do stumble on here I would like to say thanks a million for all of the great music, positive lyrics, heart/soul and energy that you have provided us. 7 Seconds was a big part of my youth. And for you 7 Seconds fans, whether new or vetran....buy this album!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is your parent's hardcore!, March 15, 2006
This review is from: Take It Back Take It on Take It Over (Dig) (Audio CD)
It's so good to hear 7 Seconds as gown men carrying forward the ideals they championed as kids. Let's face it, they'll never be known as accomplished musicians, but few bands have ever shouted-out their opinions with as much conviction as these guys.

Now that they're no longer lost trying to become the next REM or U2, the songs are stripped back to where they need to be. A great effort from a great band.

7 Seconds remains young at heart and rock as hard as ever!!! Pick up this CD if you're over 30 and have ever been a fan of hardcore. It feels just like the '80s.
