This is excellent. The first CD of his that I've purchased and it makes me want to go back and hear more of his stuff. Worth every penny.

Rodney Atkins has proven that he has a wonderful view of life.
His earlier recordings have given us a glimpse into his love for his family, his home. and his positive attitude on life. He does not disappoint on this CD.
The song "Take a Back Road" basically says slow down and take your time. Appreciate what is off of the beaten track, an attitude that we all need, now and then.
I don't know if "He's mine" is a song about what I put my father through or what my son puts me through. Maybe it's about EVERY father and son. Great song!
"Family" is a song I want to laugh and cry about every time I hear it. I think everybody can feel this song. It's what the name says, family.
"The Corner" is good advice from a father to a son leaving home for the first time. We should all listen. A pretty smart man wrote this song.
"She's a Girl" explains falling in love with vour baby daughter. I have four and know the feeling very well. Nice song.
"She'd Rather Fight" is a FUN song about the wrath of a woman.
If you have ever faced the wrath in the previous song, "Feet" is the very hopeful resulting make-up song.
Now, a question for you. Do you make time to get away with the one you love? It's important. "Cabin in the Woods" is a good reminder.
Do you want to party? "I Just Wanna Rock 'N Roll". Oddly mellow party song, but it works.
If you feel like you had a good childhood you will fill in the blanks in "Growing Up Like That." I can relate very closely.
More good advice on living life in "Tips". Kind of a sideways Jimmy Buffet theme.
If you feel like there have been times in your life when you may have gone off the rails, think about someone who pulled you back from the edge. "Lifelines" is a song for them.
"Farmer's Daughter" was the first single from this CD. It's a song about how what you really want makes hard work worth the effort.

I bought this cd primarily for the song "Take a Back Road," but love all the other songs on it. Rodney Atkins plays some great country music with several of his songs being so recognizable to anyone who ever listens to country music radio, like Farmer's Daughter, He's Mine and the huge hit Take A Back Road. Other great songs as well on the cd. A great buy.
