I teach drama Early Childhood (4 years old) through 5th grade. I found this book right before the school year started (thankfully!). My students had never taken drama before so I used the fairy tale stories with my ECE - Third grade a few times to get the students comfortable with performing. All of them loved it! I continue to use it with my ECE, Kinder and First grade and they never get tired of it. The stories are easy to narrate--I narrate the story one time first and then have the students act it out. ALL the students participate. I love the "Themes" and the students really remember the stories--even weeks later. I am a drama teacher by trade but this would be an excellent resource for any Early Childhood teacher and a story can be done in as little as 20 minutes if you choose.

Just what the mommy ordered! I volunteer at my daughter's preschool a few times a month for storytime and wanted to do something different. I ordered this book and was pleasantly surprised to find how easy she makes it. Ms. Czitrom has done all the work for you. All you have to do is choose the story or theme you would like to do with the children and wha-la instant teacher is born. She even had several warm-up exercises to do with the class. She encourages you to explore ideas of your own to incorporate with your class. This book would make an excellent gift for a parent or beloved school teacher.
