Book Description

November 2, 2004
Take Care of Yourself is the world's best-selling health guide, and the only one that has been found to help reduce visits to the doctor and save money. Covering nearly 200 health-care problems and symptoms, it is easy to use, even in a crisis. Readers can locate their symptoms in the easily navigable guide and find a complete explanation of likely causes and possible home remedies. Diagrams show how to recognize problems, and, in many cases, treat them quickly, and the decision charts advise when exactly it's time to see a doctor. This comprehensive guide also covers emergencies, health problem prevention, the 20 things everyone should keep in a home pharmacy, and how to work best with a doctor. Revised and updated, it remains the most comprehensive and dependable self-care guide, and is essential for every home.

This review is from: Take Care Of Yourself 8E: The Complete Illustrated Guide To Medical Self-care (Paperback)
This book is one of the best guides to better health. It is easy to both find what ails you and what heals you. It is written in laymans terms that are easy to understand. I strongly recommend it be a part of your home health library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Used it for years!, August 5, 2005
This review is from: Take Care Of Yourself 8E: The Complete Illustrated Guide To Medical Self-care (Paperback)
My employer gave me an earlier edition of this book as part of a wellness plan. I literally wore it out! It's weird to try to call a doctor's office if you're not sure you need a doctor, and this book helps you figure out if you need to go in or not. Highly reccomended

5.0 out of 5 stars Take Care of Yourself, October 4, 2007

This review is from: Take Care Of Yourself 8E: The Complete Illustrated Guide To Medical Self-care (Paperback)
An excellent book to use for medical self-care. In flow-chart style, it guides you through questions/answers and a possible diagnosis, then advises whether your condition is mild, moderate, or serious enough to warrant emergency medical care. I also like "Take Care of Your Child," and used it a lot when my children were small.
