Not the book I expected,

The 1986 version of Take Care of Yourself has been the mainstay of our home medical library for 20 years. I purchased this "latest edition" assuming that the book had been improved, but it's not the same book. This is a standard paperback and as admittted in the forward has been shortened from the original. It sure has. We spot checked a few places and found it very lacking. For example "Croup" would seem like an important subject for a home medical guide. The original version had an excellent section which I'm sure has helped many an anxious parent the first time they were faced with a child with croup at 2 am. The new book doesn't even address it. Copies of the Eighth Edition of several years ago are still available. That is the version to own.
