5.0 out of 5 stars BobbyTake Good Care of My Baby/A Bobby Vee Recording Session, December 15, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Take Good Care of My Baby/A Bobby Vee Recording Session (Audio CD)
Thank you BGO and Amazon for making this CD available. This CD brings back the music of my early teenage years. My old copies are barely playable. I was concerned about purchasing a CD containing songs from two old LPs because I have been burned by low quality CDs and DVDs before. I cannot accurately describe the pleasure I experienced when listening to this wonderfull CD in clear, perfect, STEREO. This is an excellent CD that would be a prized possession for any Bobby Vee fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vee's Finest Recordings, September 27, 2007
This review is from: Take Good Care of My Baby/A Bobby Vee Recording Session (Audio CD)
Forget the negative press Bobby Vee has gotten over the years. For those of us old enough to have enjoyed the music of the period that begins with Elvis' release from the Army and ends with the apocalyptic release of She Loves You, Vee's recordings made lasting hits on our minds and dreams. Leave it that he was underated to a fault and that these two albums, at last welded together, were the highwater mark of his recording career.

Two memorable albums, are remastered here!
These two albums were originally released in 1961 & 1962,
and are two of Bobby Vee's all time best.

ALBUM ONE, "Take good care of my baby" from 1961 -- highlights,
1. "Take good care of my baby" took Vee to the number one position,
and is remembered as his signature song.
2. "Run to him" b/w "Walkin' with my angel" was a top 5 hit.
3. His covers of "Will you love me tomarrow", "He will break your heart",
and "Raining in my heart" were given the usual Bobby Vee treatment.
4. Vee's delivery of "Hark, is that a cannon I hear" is excelent.

ALBUM TWO, "A recording session" from 1962 -- highlights,
1. On "Please don't ask about Barbara" b/w "I can't say goodbye"
Bobby Vee really hit his stride. If you haven't ever heard "I can't say good-bye"
you've missed one of his very best!
2. Vee seemed to be on a roll when "Sharing you" b/w "In my babys eyes"
also charted well. "In my babys eyes" would have been an excelent single release.
3. Vee covers "Whats your name" and "You better move on".
The other elevan of these 24 tracks are new album cuts and includes some good material.

These back to back L.P.'s are of Bobby Vee in his prime.
The booklet gives six pages about Bobby Vee, and this music.
The label is "Beat goes on records" made in England.
This music has great sound quality.

Footnote: If your a Bobby Vee fan and have purchased "THE SINGLES COLLECTION"
there is still 17 songs here that are not on that set.
