I have the expanded version of Jessica's "In This Skin" album. The reason I bought this single was for the unreleased track "Fly". In my opinion, it wasn't really worth it. "Fly" sounds sort of like a cross between the song "Everyday See You" (from "In This Skin") and early Mandy Moore songs from her "So Real" album. So, if you like that particular song or album, you'll love "Fly". But if you don't like your pop music to sound overly cheesy, pass on this single!

I don't believe that this is the correct place for a person to rant and rave about their personal beliefs about an artist. The information that we should be providing should be about the single or album in question. For instance, the fact that someone from Federal Way, WA thinks that Jessica is too skinny is completely irrelevant to the quality of this single.
The reason I gave the single 4 out of 5 stars is because I feel that the track could have had a bit more emphasis on the strong vocals that Jessica has. When she hits the note "Take my breath away" I always feel that she isn't singing to her true potential because I have heard her sing it live and I deeply think that she sounds so much better than on this single. But that may be the production's fault. After all, they have total control on how it's going to finally sound.
The song is great and Jessica has amazing vocal capabilities. I think it's safe to say that she chose the right career path for herself.

There is just something about Jessica Simpson's voice. It's infectious and highly enjoyable. Jessica Simpson's rendering of Take my Breath Away is sweeter and more melodious than Berlin's. The music is pleasing on the ears, unlike the harsher tones of the latter's. Jessica Simpson retains her passion while singing, without compromising on her dulcet notes. She sings the high notes with immense talent.

Fly is also a good track, but the song that is obviously this composition's highlight is Take my Breath Away.

Okay, don't be swayed away by the fact that I like music such as Slayer and Metallica. I like the original by Berlin. Loved it, actually.

The reason I don't like this version, simply put, is because her voice isn't right for it.

I think that without the keyboards and with an all too powerful voice, it just doesn't work.

I do not really care for the original version of "Take My Breath Away". But, I absolutely love this one. Jessica Simpson has a really unique vocal range & that becomes obvious in this track. The lyrics are tender & sweet & just very touching. It's so funny because I've grown into this song just as I had to grow into Simpson's "Angels" & "With You". It seems to me as if the words to Jessica's songs on her latest album are more mature & are more of who she is. I've also learned that her music from "In This Skin", as a whole, is more mature than the instruments/sounds from her "Irresistible" CD. And growth/difference coming from a follow-up CD is an amazing thing to me.

I gave this CD single three stars (which indicates decant work). I'm not feeling the song "Fly". But its tune is good.

Most these users don't even comment about "Fly", because most of them just heard "Take My Breath Away" on the radio and they think they have the freedom to critique a CD they didn't buy. Well, "Fly" is not Jessica's best song, but still, I love anything that she sings, because she has the best voice of her generation of singers.

This song is like my all-time favorite! The good thing is that this song is close to the original, but it could never take the feeling I had for Berlin's song. The sounds and the background just simply takes my breath away.

For years her record label has been holding her voice back on purpose.
I think American Idol is partly responsible for showing America to appreciate singing.
Jessica has a great range and good control.
Britney Spears would kill to have Jessica's voice.
Christina has a better voice but it suits R&B better than it does Pop Music.
I understand the people that hate this cover. Covers are always controversial, but you can't deny her talent.

I can listen to Jessica sing this song over and over. She has a wonderful voice and is absolutely beautiful!
Her talent is endless.

Don't even think about buying this, let alone listening to it! This is one of the worst remakes I've ever heard and I hope Berlin sues Jessica for butchering their beautiful song! All this idiot is doing is milking her 15 minutes of fame and butchering a bunch of great songs of the past. She should not be supported because she's ruining the music industry and needs to go away as soon as is humanly possible!!
