Take My Hand is a collection of poems by Dawn Colclasure, who was involved in a car accident with her mother in 1976 and suffered severe third degree burns. The poems illustrate her fears of undergoing several reconstructive surgeries, her unwavering faith in God as well as spotlighting some of the people she met during her hospital stays. Finally, the poetry included in this book feature certain aspects of adolescence such as losing a first pet, peer pressure and escaping to a fantasy world.

About the Author

Dawn Colclasure has been writing poetry since she was eleven years old and has received many awards for her poetry. She has been published in various newspapers and magazines, as well as a variety of websites, and she also writes short stories, books, plays, essays, songs and articles. She previously founded the now defunct local poetry club, the Circle of Poets, where she edited and published their magazine, American Bard. She is currently seeking an agent for her novels. She lives with her husband and child in Southern California, where she continues her writing endeavors.

More About the Author

Dawn Colclasure started writing at a young age and ever since has a collection of hundreds of poems, songs, essays, articles and short stories. She founded a poetry club while in her teens, where she also edited and published their quarterly magazine, and had poetry published in anthologies and various magazines. She entered the professional writing world while in college, writing for her local newspaper while also working in the college newspaper department, then taking on a writing gig for a weekly webzine. From there she wrote her first novel then moved on to freelance writing, writing for magazines and E-zines. This led to joining the writing team for the newspaper for the deaf, SIGNews, and she has also written about ghosts and hauntings for the Shadowlands site.

This is a very inspiring book, the poems in here have so much emotion and depth, it really opens your mind!! I think it is definitely worth buying, it is one of the best poetry books i have ever read!
