5.0 out of 5 stars Great AQUA type of Mix in songs., June 2, 1999
This review is from: Take Off (Audio CD)
This Group Solid Base, plays music much like that of the Group Aqua known for "Barbie Girl". I appreciate the entire mix of songs on This album. It is a fast pace exhilirating selection of dance songs. Great for parties, or just driving around in a car. Only downside is that it is hard to find, and costly because it is an import CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars One word: DAMN!, March 15, 2000
This review is from: Take Off (Audio CD)
THis stuff is good! In the same style as Culture Beat, Future Beat, DJ Bobo, Bad Boys Blue... This is a fast-paced dance music with a good rhythm, solid vocals, good lyrics. This is worth getting, even if you've never heard of it before.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT Swedish EURODANCE/POP/TECHNO Album, January 21, 2003

This is a truly AMAZING album, with 14 IRRESISTABLY CATCHY DANCE/POP/TECHNO tunes (more if you have Japanese Version, but I don't). Every song on the album is FANTASTIC. It combines Powerful Female vocals by Isabell Heitman, and Crazy Raps by Thomas Nordin. Isabel and Thomas simply ROCK (or should I say Euro-Dance???) (he he).

If you like music by REAL MCCOY, LA BOUCHE, E-TYPE, BASIC ELEMENT, MASTERBOY, DAZE, DJ BOBO, AQUA, or CULTURE BEAT, then you will love this CD. If you like to listen to songs with NICE BEATS, and CATCHY MELODIES then you will LOVE this album even more.

Also if you like some of the EuroDance-Oriented songs by BACKSTREET BOYS (Larger than Life), N'SYNK (Bye Bye Bye) or BRITNEY SPEARS (Stronger) then you MUST get this album.

I would love to talk individually about every song on this album, but they are all GREAT, so it would take too long. Most songs fit into EURO-DANCE category with a few nice EURO-POP tunes here and there. GREAT MELODY is present EVERYWHERE on this album.

AWESOME Euro-Dance songs on this album include: "Katie", "Come'n Get Me", "Obladi/Oblada", "Right Way", "U Won't Forget Me", "Ticket to Fly", "Don't Give Up", "Diamonds are Forever" and my most favorite "C'est La Vie" .

Awesome Euro-Pop tunes are: "Sunny Holiday", "Mother Earth", "Trust", and "Please Tell Me".

Wow, I think I listed every single song on this Album!!! So, you get my point, they are all great.

So if you ever feel like listening to Great Dance/Pop music with Melodies that are pure "Candy" to your ears, then Give SOLID BASE a Chance. You will love it.

Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "Solid" Effort, November 5, 2000

As far as Euro-dance goes in the year 2000, Solid Base has to be one the most consistent, reliable groups in the world. All of their singles are excellent and of superior quality, which is something that I would be hard-put to say about most other groups. Also, as far as their albums go, the bulk of the material rates at least a 9 or 10. "Take Off", while released nearly two years ago, is an album that still holds its own in the world of dance. The tracks on here are pure ear-candy - the best being SUNNY HOLIDAY(#2), KATIE(#3), RIGHT WAY (#8), U WON'T FORGET ME(#10), PLEASE TELL ME(#11), DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER(#12)and DON'T GIVE UP(#14). Surprisinly, DON'T GIVE UP is my favorite track of them all. It is a random song, not having been released as a single, but it embraces the best of Euro-dance. Isabelle and Thomas sound so energetic and fun on this great song. The only misstep here is MOTHER EARTH(#6). It has got to be one of the most pointless songs I have ever heard. It's a disaster of a song. But as I always say, there is never the "perfect" album. This album is a 9.9 out of 10. This is HIGHLY recommended for every Euro-dance fan.
