after the slightly disappointing "Justice", this surprise EP from Rev Theory is quite the comeback, way more fun and energetic, loaded with attitude and style. i only hope that this leads to a full album of similar songs, because this is a great teaser.

Don't waste your money on this partial EP. Short versions of new Rev Theory songs, marketed as an EP....shame on the band, and shame on Amazon. RT is going to have an album out with full versions, and hopefully, a album full of more of these great teasers. C'mon, doesn't anybody have ethics?

Holy crap, I was blown away when I came across this. Their last try, "Justice", while no where near bad, didn't quite do it for me like "Light it Up" did. This EP almost epitomizes the raw intensity this band fires off in a live show (seen them about 3 times). It appears they have added a little techno to their sound with some synthesizers and distortion, but in a phenomenal way.

Something New: foot started tapping during the start, and head started slamming during the Chorus. Slow, raw, and pounding, a great catchy riff. 5/5

Adrenalize: faster pace than Something new, pulse pounding. Chorus is a little off whith the constant shouting of Adrenalize, and slows down halfway through the song, but not in a bad way. 4.5/5

Take 'Em Out: Slower fist in the air shouts, great beat, hard driving sound. IMO, I think this is only marginally the lesser of the tracks. Love the beat, 4/5

Undefeated: more techno in sound, synthesizers are apparent in the start. Faster pace, great song. 4.5/5

My only negative comment, if you would call it that, is the short duration of the songs. The longest clocks in at 2 seconds under 3 minutes, with the shortest eing 2:31. Great songs and I love this EP venture from this amazing band. I just wish the songs could have been a bit longer. I cant wait until they plan their next full album. If this EP is any indication of where that album could head, then they will crush them all!! if you live this band, then this EP is a must!!

I discovered this band back when they called themselves Revelation Theory. I wasn't real impressed with the next CD after they shortened their name. I heard a song they did on Octane and found this EP online. I like these songs much better than the second CD....still listen to their 1st CD though. anyway....songs are faster paced, nice...not cookie cutter...

Overall a nice quick collection of songs by Rev Theory. Not as heavy as some of their previous stuff but still very catchy. Keeps things moving pretty quick paced.....now its time for a new full length album from these boys!
