Some of us can still remember the first time we learned to ride a bicycle. Most likely it was a parent, isbling or friend who coaxed us to climb onto the seat and hold on for dear life! Unfortunately, our first few tries were probably not too enjoyable, as we fell, and perhaps scraped our knees.
Using this analogy of learning to ride a bike, author Joyce Weiss in her compact book entitled Take the Ride of Your Life! counsels the reader that no matter what you attempt in life, if you don't succeed at first, try and try again until you attain your goals. In other words, get back onto the bike.
Constantly using the metaphors attributed to bicycle learning, the author endeavors to convince us that life is not as complicated as it sometimes appears. Various solutions are suggested in order to help combat stress, learn to have fun out of life, overcoming obstacles, knowing thyself, communicating, balancing life and pursuing goals and actions.

"Take the Ride of Your Life" is a book capable of changing one's life - and gives one the tools and courage to do just that. Author Weiss' analogy of learning to ride a bicycle; the anticipation, the excitement, the heart-pounding fear, are used to help one to recognize that noe improvements in life are made without a minimal amount of risk or uncertainty.
Shifting gears shouldn't be so filled with fear, and with Ms. Weiss' help, doing so seems less dangerious. Instead, she offers the lure of the thrill of adventure as an incentive to risk change and strive for self-improvement. The author explains, in he smooth and friendly writing style, that obstacles can be navigated and overcome, that feelings of fear and uncertainty can transform into feelings of freedom and adventure, and most of all, and perhaps best of all, that we should never stop learning or exploring not only our own selves, but those around us.
Author Joyce Weiss employs a realistic, though at the same time, extremely encouraging manner to encourage attempts to attain our goals. Her lessons instill confidence; self-reliance and acceptance are heartfelt and compassionate. Most of all, one gets the sense that she truly cares. Her enthusiasm for her subject shines through in her casual though thought-provoking prose. "Take the Ride of Your Life" offers motivation for everyone and it's delivered with an uncanny combination of insight, warmth and humor.

Great tools for moving beyond that "stuck" feeling in life. Book tells how to reclaim personal freedom, without landing on your head or turning things upside down. I especially liked that Joyce writes about overcoming the fear of change - that's a big issue for most anyone! Tips were helpful too - the Straight Talk and Verbal Aikido work wonders when I have to deal with sticky family situations or everyday work issues. Things have changed for the better - thanks Joyce!
