Best album ever made,
By Thomas (Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Take to the Skies (Audio CD)
I first heard Enter Shikari off the game Maden NFL 08. I never expected them to become my favorite band. After i heard OK, Time for Plan B, i thought if i like one song i'll probably like more! I downloaded a few more songs and they were all masterpieces! Mothership, Enter Shikari, Sorry You're Not A Winner. I finally decided to buy the album. I stopped by a local record store and they dont carry Enter Shikari so i requested an order. I got the album and i listened to it all afternoon. I just love how the songs progress and there are many different genres of music in it! They soon became my favorite band and Take To The Skies became my favorite album. They're new music is not near as good as the 2007 Enter Shikari. They are still my favorite band, and they're new stuff is pretty good, but compared to Take To The Skies, it sucks! Best band, best album!! (In my opinion of course)

A great find for an indie music listener,
This review is from: Take to the Skies (Audio CD)
It seems most people randomly encounter this band, as did I. And whilst I dont think this is a 5 star album in the way of flawless records, in the scope of amazon's rating scale it is worth the 5 stars to get your attention.
The key to this album is melody. Its full of gorgeous melodies wrapped in electronica/rock/punk sounds. Its amazingly different to anything Ive heard before, the synth electronica could be something at a rave party but it manages to ground the music with earthly vocals that are catchy to sing along with. These guys are heavy but not in a pretentious way. They channel some real emotions here, specially for a band who is messing around with heavy metal\rave subject matter which usually deals with more self indulgent angst. Honestly I think this album went way under the radar because it doesnt belong to any particular genre.(outside of UK).
