5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh Nuts!
Some people like overproduced, repetitive, no talent rap wannabe's. I don't. This album is none of the above. The beats are tight, simple, and completely smooth, the rhymes are hype, witty, and original. You WILL be bouncin to this! All I can say is the album is dope folks. I've had this in my CD player for about a month, and have listened to it more times than I can...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cant Feel this as much as I would like to
I love the beatnuts and their music, but this is not the beatnuts I have heard. This album is too commercialized and not the hardcore underground beatnuts I would like to hear. I am happy for the beatnuts and their career but when you make albums like this you loose your "real" fans. The production is nice, but once again too commercial for my taste. I only gave...

I've had this in my CD player for about a month, and have listened to it more times than I can count, and I'm still not sick of it. While I've put such albums as the new JT Money or Trick Daddy in, and taken them right back out a few days later, I'm STILL not tired of the 'nuts. The radio gets turned up about 5 notches when the hook from "no escapin' this" starts to play, and such songs as "it's the nuts" or "yo yo yo" have gotten more play than Hugh Heffner on my stereo. I would say this album is packin the same caliber of Outkast's Stankonia or DJ Clue's Professional Part 2. So, what are you waiting for? Check the samples, and buy this album!

Peace from Chicago

I only gave 3 stars because I am a beatnuts fan. If you want to tune into a real beatnuts album check out "Crazy Stoned".

I've been a huge fan of the Beatnuts from their 1st LP til present, and I think what makes them so good is there ability to update their sound and change with the times, this cd has shown their progress....although i am a fan of every single one of their cd's, this is the most rounded and best from start to finish. Put this cd on at a party or before u go out at night, u will love it.....by the way, if u havent seen these guys LIVE u r totally missing out, they r unbelievable !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT ALBUM, March 20, 2001

Anyone that states that this album is wack...should look in the mirror and ask themselves, "Why am i such a hater? How can i being to recognize the jealousy i have for artists that have been a mainstay in the rap game since the late 80's?" This album is so tight its not even funny...the beatnuts have been infamous since the drop of their EP in 1993 for tremendous instrumentals and beat productions. THey would have not worked with artists by the likes of the Jungle Brothers, Mos Def, Big Pun, GhostFace Killa, MethodMan if they were wack. If you liked any of their previous albums, or any of their last singles like "Watch Out Now" from their previous album, you will Love this album. Although i do send out a caution to those who dont like to hear creative, funny lyrics denouncing girls in clubs, the dudes girlfriend next to you at the bar and her mother, and of course your neighbors glasshouse, i suggest you stay away. THe BEatnuts have to be one of the most creative rap groups ever to exist, both beat wise and lyric wise. For those of us in the LAtino rap community, The BEatnuts are a shining star that nobody can bring down.

5 Stars isn't enough for this album. "Take It Or Squeeze It" has it all. Dope beats and amazing lyricism from Psycho Les and Ju Ju. The best tracks on this album: I don't know...they're all good. The Beatnuts be comin' with da sh** once again.

This Beatnuts cd is tight from beginning to end. The beats are tight and original. The production is great similar to all their album especially "Musical Massacre". The best songs are most defiantly 2,3,4,6,7,8,10,11,12,13,14. So guess what? This album is the s@#t. Believe it Go snatch this one right now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Uh, when can I expect the next Beatnuts album?, March 21, 2001
This review is from: Take It Or Squeeze It (Audio CD)
okay, last year i waited patiently all year for kweli and outkast to drop. kweli was killer, stankonia was crazy, and in the meantime, i was pleasantly suprised by "violent by design" by the jedi mind tricks, zion I, dead prez, and mastermids among others. 2001 had yet to produce anything of that calibur, until now, and as much as i loved reflection eternal and those jedi minds joints, this album could have made a case for best album of 2000, and is obviously gonna be in the running for best of 2001 when the end of the year rolls around (is black star really gonna drop?).

this album is solid from beginning to end. there are only two tracks that arent truly incredible and even they provide a certian flavor that makes this a complete beatnuts product. i think that "watch out now" and "turn it out" were/are two of the hottest tracks ever, but this album is better overall than "musical massicure" was, making it the best beatnuts album, and one of my favorite albums of all time.

the amazon review seems to hint at the fact that this album is good, but that the beatnuts kinda overdo themselves which means that the album is kinda played out before its even put in your stereo. well i say the beatnuts overdid themselves, but the result is the beatnuts in full force, and that means some of the coolest hooks and beats in hip hop today. i bought the album for 17 bones, and that may seem high, and i admit it kinda is, but this is 17 dollas well spent... this is a steal.

my only complaint is the fact that there are only 14 tracks, one of which is the intro. i want more already, and i wanna know - when can i expect the next beatnuts album!

buy it yall. peace out.

4.0 out of 5 stars solid CD, November 23, 2004
This review is from: Take It Or Squeeze It (Audio CD)
It has a bit of a different feel to it than a lot of albums on the market right now. Yo yo yo is just an "addictive" song that hooks u from start to finish. There were some songs on here that I didnt care much for, and thats unfortunate since the album is relatively short in today's standards. Thats the only reason I dropped it to 4 though. Other than the kind of short length and a select few songs that could have done without, it wasnt a bad CD.
