I first heard Enter Shikari off the game Maden NFL 08. I never expected them to become my favorite band. After i heard OK, Time for Plan B, i thought if i like one song i'll probably like more! I downloaded a few more songs and they were all masterpieces! Mothership, Enter Shikari, Sorry You're Not A Winner. I finally decided to buy the album. I stopped by a local record store and they dont carry Enter Shikari so i requested an order. I got the album and i listened to it all afternoon. I just love how the songs progress and there are many different genres of music in it! They soon became my favorite band and Take To The Skies became my favorite album. They're new music is not near as good as the 2007 Enter Shikari. They are still my favorite band, and they're new stuff is pretty good, but compared to Take To The Skies, it sucks! Best band, best album!! (In my opinion of course)

It seems most people randomly encounter this band, as did I. And whilst I dont think this is a 5 star album in the way of flawless records, in the scope of amazon's rating scale it is worth the 5 stars to get your attention.

The key to this album is melody. Its full of gorgeous melodies wrapped in electronica/rock/punk sounds. Its amazingly different to anything Ive heard before, the synth electronica could be something at a rave party but it manages to ground the music with earthly vocals that are catchy to sing along with. These guys are heavy but not in a pretentious way. They channel some real emotions here, specially for a band who is messing around with heavy metal\rave subject matter which usually deals with more self indulgent angst.

Honestly I think this album went way under the radar because it doesnt belong to any particular genre.(outside of UK).

It's about time, someone gets brave enough to make a good cd for once. This album is almost a perfect peice of art. Most of the tracks are great catchy tunes that will get you off your chair and start moshing/dancing around. There are a couple of odd tracks that are just thrown in for what ever reason. You may not like the style of singing at first, but after 3 good listen throughs you will be in love with it. This is the kind of cd that i would pop in when I am completely bored with everything else. Great band, great cd, buy!

I'm not sure what you're doing right now, but you should be buying this album. Seriously go do it.

Enter Shikari is a completely different musical experience.

I just recently got into Enter Shikari and their sound is fairly original imo. I enjoyed most of the album and it has a fairly high replay value.

Each song follows the next seamlessly so don't put it on shuffle and listen to it how it was inteded to. It makes a big difference.

Take to the Skies is the début studio album by British rock band Enter Shikari. Released: March 19, 2007 Recorded: The Outhouse, Reading, Berkshire, UK 2006-2007 Genre: Electronicore/metalcore, Hardcore, Post-Hardcore, Melodic, Experimental
""Enter Shikari" provides your initial encounter with Rou Reynolds’ voice. In a scene swamped by Americanisms he, rather remarkably, has remained true to his English accent, which he imparts faithfully through his screaming. The boy has range to boot. Not only does he do his clean (ie, unscreamed) vocals beautifully, but on the face-melting ‘Return To Energizer’ he sounds like a disgruntled metalcore yak, before the track morphs into the intro to a Faithless concert – all in two minutes." - Mike Sterry
The songs are a continuum from one to the next, play them in order and be amazed.

I came across this band on emusic. It was a random encounter involving one of their singles, but I immediately loved their sound. While some may think the rock/electronics clash, I think it's a rather unique sound. The "rock" side provides crushing guitars, while the keyboards provide a nice melodic undertone. The keyboards sum-up Enter Shikari; a rock band with a new flavor of fun and energy. And energetic they are. I enjoy their heavy guitars and drums, that move nicely into melodic *and catchy* choruses. I personally enjoy every song on this CD, my favorites being "Sorry you're not a winner" and "Johnny Sniper." With everything, Enter Shikari isn't for everyone... but they're a favorite of mine.
