This review is from: Take This Job and Love It: How to Change Your Work Without Changing Your Job (Paperback)
I read this book in a course on career development, along with such classics as Richard Bolles', 'What Color Is Your Parachute?', and it stands out in my memory as so sweetly encouraging that I recommend it as a supplement to 'Parachute' type works (which can be dense for the timid). I loved developing my own sense of career self through the "baby steps" in this book...my mission statement, or, rather, my dream of ever having a mission...its the tone that is so lovely in this book: supportive-ness for the tentative (or the truly frightened)! It teaches how to make each job your own, making it work for you in the long run. I still quote the text today, 17 years later, when counseling young adults. Thanks for the encouragement!
