Book Description

Harlequin Blaze January 19, 2010

For Mariska Stonegate, the gorgeous guy she's now met is everything she's looking for in a man--hot, hot and...oh, right. Hot. And just because every pore of his body screams danger and sex doesn't mean she's getting herself into too much trouble....

But Mr. Thomas isn't who he says he is. In fact, his real name is Jackson--no last names, please--and he's a burned CIA agent on the run. And he'll do just about anything to stay alive...including seducing Mariska one hot, steamy night at a time!

Candice has a way of writing that envelopes you in the story with amazing details of the locations (sights, sounds, smells, etc) and she throws in a good mixture of spice and humor. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to many more!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Writing, November 23, 2011
It's been some time since I read this book, but I am still astounded at Ms Havens' response to my criticism. I wrote her to express my dismay at the quality of writing in this book - too many incomplete sentences and choppy plot development made it a difficult read for me.
Ms Havens replied that firstly it wasn't her fault, that these were typos; secondly she claimed that good grammar and sentence construction made for a boring book....she preferred to write as her characters speak, inferring that none of her characters can string a proper sentence together AND inferring that quality authors who have produced classic literature and used correct grammar and sentence construction were just too boring for words.
