5.0 out of 5 stars easy, fast, simply delicious and very asian!, December 15, 2011
This review is from: Takeaway: Southeast Asian Soups, Salads and Stir-fries (Paperback)
I am from asia and I take my asian food very seriously. Especially noodles. And this book has over 140 recipes and they all have noodles in them. wow! I was very impressed.
All the ingredients in the book are very affordable and easy to find at normal asian market. Every recipe has great picture and they are very easy to follow. I recomend to use a little bit of sweet chili(1 tbsp per serving) sauce and chili flakes when you cook PadThai. My favorite recipes are Curry laksa, Hot and sour seafood noodles, Thai spicy prwan noodles, Prawn and squid salad with glass noodles, Lemon grass beef with rice vermicelli salad, and of course my all time favorite PadThai. They are all delicious, I am strongly recommending you to try them ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh, simple Asian Soups and Stir Fries, March 21, 2010
This review is from: Takeaway: Southeast Asian Soups, Salads and Stir-fries (Paperback)
I am amazed this cookbook doesn't have dozens of reviews. This is by far the best Asian cookbook I have used. The soup recipes alone - and there are 24 - are worth the price of the book. Each has a full page, color photo that makes you want to cook the soup that day. All of the recipes I have tried has been excellent. My husband and teenage son both love the soups as much as I do. Sichuan beef noodle and Malaysain prawn noodle are their favorites. Mine are crabmeat vermicelli and curry laksa. Your friends will think you took an Asian soup class.

The cookbook is easy to use with only three sections: soups, salads, and stir fry recipes. It isn't full of filler recipes that you will never use. I have tried several of the stir fry recipes and they are equally as good as the soups - the pad thai and scallops with egg noodles and chinese broccoli in particular. Haven't tried the salads yet, but the photos look great.
