Wow! I'm surprised the book didn't burn up in my hands.,

With this book Ms. Foster instantly put herself on my favourites list. The love scenes in this book kept me riveted. I started it and midnight and couldn't put it down til I was finished. I had to work the next day, but it didn't matter. Dillon is every woman's hero and Virginia ia your atypical romance heroine. She had attitude and realistic issues and I loved her too. Can't wait to read the next one.

Foster Hits Another One Outta the Park,
By Erin "Erin" (Georgia, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Taken! (Blaze) (Temptation) (Paperback)
Virginia is strong-willed, loyal, and hard-nosed. She more often than not repels others and finds satisfaction in her life through her family's business. Fortunately, Virginia is a woman who could change for the right man. She simply needs a man who can... handle her.
Dillon is a man's man in every way - going along with Lori Foster's already set method for writing her heroes. He's strong-willed, intelligent, resourceful and never cruel. Dillon spells out what he wants and then he takes it. Once he reels Virginia in with his sexy body but wimpy facade, he figures she won't know what hit her until it's too late. But he will make sure she's found satisfaction in ways she never previously imagined. Taken! left me with a warm, fuzzy, feeling. It was so believable, as well - a trait that is often lost in romance novels. The physical attraction that Dillon had for Virginia was sudden while his overall attraction to her was gradual, as it often is in real life. How often do we find ourselves lusting after someone only to find their personality does not match ours, or - if we're lucky - that the other is more our match than we even initially imagined? With its believable plot, characters with actual character, and fast moving storyline Taken! sucked me in quickly and I loved every minute of it. Foster, not so surprisingly, has hit another ball out of the park with this one.

Taken is a book you'll have to take with you wherever you go,
This review is from: Taken! (Blaze) (Temptation) (Paperback)
because you won't be able to put it down. Lori Foster has crafted a book that all but sizzles in your hand, and she'd created characters who will brand your heart. Virginia is a tough woman who uses her hard exterior to hide the softness and insecurities that are very much a part of her. Dillon is a man who isn't looking for a long term relationship, but he can't seem to keep his mind or his hands off her. When he kidnaps her, well, it's hard to know where the physical bounds end and the emotional ones begin.Lori Foster has a wonderful talent and I look forward to her next book!

I read anything that Lori Foster writes. She always writes great stories. While this may not be her best book, you can always count on her for a good story. This book is no exception. It was nice to see that the characters in this book have some flaws. If the characters are too perfect, it takes away some of the romance for me.

I bought this book after reading all the reviews the other readers gave the book. All of the reviewers gave this book five stars, did I miss something??? I wouldn't call this book bad but it was more long winded chatter than romance....The romance in the book is good, but Lori Foster does not really focus on that, she goe's on and on about Cliff and his relationship to his sister, and well a bunch of other stuff that doesn't matter in a romance novel... I admit I was disappointed, but gave it three stars because it's a Lori Foster book...What the heck!!!!

Taken! is Lori Foster at her absolute best, probably the only romance out of thousands I've read over the years that's literally made my pulse race.

For a Fantasy, TAKEN Strikes a Little Too Close!,
By
This review is from: Taken! (Blaze) (Temptation) (Paperback)
I'm a big fan of Lori Foster novels: they are short, sexy and so darn much fun. But what comes highly recommended in one book doesn't always work in another. In TAKEN, the reader finds a tale with a lot of extra padding, fatten into a stripped-naked prisoner plot!
Mini Synopsis: Everyone thinks Virginia Johnson is a bit of a witch because she runs her family-owned company with an iron fist. To the outside world, this overbearing woman has given up on her feminine soft side and lives her life as a controlling corporate boss. Although, business fills her days, loneliness fills her nights. Yet, Virginia Johnson convinces everyone, including herself, this is the life she wants! Until, Dillon Jones enters the picture. Dillon Jones is one hot, hot man! Now Virginia is forced to ask herself, "Would it be so bad to engage in a little extracurricular activity?" In the opening pages, the iron maiden and her employee-extraordinaire Dillon are really getting it on, in a parked car, in a driveway, with people partying and mingling, mere yards away! Yep, plus-size Ms. Virginia Johnson has certainly found her feminine side and Mr. Dillon Jones is one heck of a diversion! Virginia's brother recently hired Dillon Jones as the new top-gun in the security department. But Dillon Jones is really undercover trying to prove his younger brother's innocence. Recently, large sums of money have vanished from Virginia's company and all avenues point directly to Dillon's kid brother. But there is no way his baby brother is an embezzler! To prove it, Dillon must see the financial records and Virginia Johnson stands directly in his path. Although, Dillon's strict code of honor frowns on using a lady, his brother's life and reputation justify the betrayal! Dillon knows that when the truth comes out, Virginia is going to feel hurt and humiliated and he is going to feel like a dog. So what were these other feelings Dillon was experiencing? Ms. Virginia Johnson was driving him nuts! And now she left him no choice, he would have to kidnap her and the lady definitely would not like being held captive! Reviewer's Comments: There is nothing complex in TAKEN's storyline. Ok, sometimes a reader just wants a quick, light read! So for a speedy, uncomplicated read, Lori Foster's TAKEN is definitely one option, but it's just not Lori Foster's best option. Lori Foster's heroes are always alpha-male material so I had no problem with Dillon Jones as the hero, but as a reader I like my romance heroines to be a little more vulnerable, a little more tender, or maybe just a little more illusional attractive! Who wants to read the heroine is fighting a weight problem - that's not fantasy, that's reality! Pleasant read Status Grade: C+ Sensuality: Hot MaryGrace Meloche.

IT WAS FOR HER OWN GOOD...
If he'd thought she would come quietly, security expert Dillon Jones wouldn't have used his "special" skills to kidnap her. But the notorious Virginia Johnson was a fighter, and Dillon had the black eye to prove it. He couldn't help wondering how she would act in the throes of passion...how it would be to take her body and soul... His code of honor wouldn't allow it, of course. Not even when she begged him.
