Product Description

Welcome to the fictitious little town of Watery, Pennsylvania where the district attorney’s personal secretary, Mary Murray never planned to become a single mom or a suspect in her infant’s disappearance, but she plans to find Jena before she suffers the same fate Mary’s younger brother had when he was taken twelve years earlier.

AND

From a beta reader-I must tell you that everything I've read lately has bored me to tears...until today. Honestly, I could not put TAKEN down. I was pleasantly surprised. I felt the author captured each character's personality and conveyed them to the reader with such clarity, that they felt like real people. I was thrilled with how the book ended---Lucilla

From The Author

Years ago a small child was taken from his home not far from where I live. The child was never found. His disappearance haunted me over the years, and still does. Hopefully someday I will know what happened to that little boy.

It breaks my heart every time I hear a news report about a missing child. So I suppose the disappearance of that little boy long ago and those heart breaking news stories is what drove me to write TAKEN.

From the Inside Flap

The first snow storm of the season made driving treacherous. Red lights on emergency vehicles suddenly flashed up ahead. Flares lit up the highway. Teddy braked harder when the state trooper standing on the center line came into view. The trooper waved his arm and pointed toward the opposite lane from the accident. Teddy breathed more freely and moved on.

Evading detection was easy this time. Sliding into a ditch and needing to be rescued like that other driver would be a downright injustice after making it this far.

4.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful first novel......., October 15, 2010
By

This review is from: Taken (Kindle Edition)
Taken held my attention from the first page to the last. The back story was interesting, and the present story was suspenseful. There were many twists and turns, pointing to different people as the kidnapper of Mary's infant. Though the book was not long, the main characters were developed enough to make you like or dislike them. Taken was fairly well-formatted with only a few typos or missing words. I was disappointed in the ending; I would have liked a epilogue to know what happened to several people, especially the kidnapper. This appears to be this author's first novel and, as such, I would rate it "good." If she writes more, I will read her next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars keeps you guessing, September 15, 2010

What I enjoyed about this book is the authors ability to really keep me guessing on who the kidnapper was. She would point you in one direction, then another, then another, then back to the original person and so on.

Suspects: Mother, Father, Mothers Best Friend, Fathers Wife, Fathers Mother, Little Old Lady Neighbor, Reporter, the list goes on and on.

This is a book you will have trouble putting down!

I really enjoyed this book! My heart went out to Mary as she looked into the crib of Jena and realized that her baby was not there. Well developed story and was so "hard to put down". Will await the next novel by Debra Lee!
