The Takeover Game is a readable "corporate takeover" book.,

While doing some research for my own book I reread John Brook's well written book about corporate takeovers in the 1980's. I had forgotten how good a book it was, not only as a reference book but also as a "good read." Paul Samuelson, one of my old economic professors at Berkeley in the early 1960's, agrees with me and gave the book high marks before it was published in 1987. Samulelson said at that time "Proper public policy for dealing with takeovers is a thorny problem. John Brooks' The Takeover Game is required reading for a thorough understanding of the subject and is a very good read at the same time." I could not agree with him more or say it any better. D.
