I needed something that I could pour boiling hot coffee into and then stick it in the fridge without it breaking. Since no one seems to make Pyrex pitchers I had to resort to plastic. I didnt want plastic since I feared it imparting my coffee with a plastic flavor but so far that has not been the case. Everything tastes fresh and untainted out of these. You should be warned that these are quite tall and may not easily fit in your refrigerator, however it fit in my fridge door perfectly. Plus with the airtight lid I was able to store these sideways too without any spills though I was a bit frightened of the concept at first, but it all worked out fine.

They do feel flimsy like cheap plastic, but upon washing these in pipiing hot water and then rinsing the soap off with cold water, no warping or cracking occurred, so whatever plastic this is made from is made to withstand some pretty severe conditions. I would highly recommend tossing these into your kitchen drink storing arsenal.

I have also never encountered pouring issues with these. As long as you keep the underside of the spout dry prior to pouring, the liquid will bead right off in a perfect arching waterfall into your cup. If you're pouring several cups at once, then wipe after each pour or be prepared for a drip here and there. Thats just the adhesion nature of liquids.

I bought these jugs to easily mix powdered drink mix into water. I've only used one of the two so far as I drink only one flavor at a time, and it worked perfectly for my needs. Pour in some water, add the drink mix, fill with water, tighten the top, and shake. Easy mixing, no leaks, and nothing to rinse or wash after. After two months, I've noticed that the jug now drips noticeably as I pour from it into my glass. This happens with the top slightly open, fully open or completely off. It's not a show-stopper, but is definitely a nuisance. Also, as with many clear plastics, the jug is starting to become cloudly - even with regular rinisng and washing, and the occassional trip through the dishwasher.

I think these pitchers are great. My reason for purchasing them was because of the airtight feature. I needed something portable to take on camping trips or picnics. They were knocked over in the ice chest filled with water from the melted ice and pretty much were not in the upright position for a couple of days, but the juice stayed fresh and nothing leaked in or out. Unlike some other reviewers, I did not have any problem with leakage while pouring. The lid needs to be in the right position for it to pour correctly, but it pretty much locks at the position it needs to be, therefore I did not have any problems with that. For the price, I think they could look a litte nicer or feel more.. expensive. But they do what they are supposed to and I think they will last through many trips.

Pros: bpa free (at least that's what they claim), seals nicely so nothing leaks, rubber handle is a nice feature, locks into the correct pouring position, feels like it will last.
Cons: not the easiest to clean; the sticker on it has the cheap quality glue that leaves marks behind, but eventually all the glue will come off.
Overall, I would recommend these.

Pros: The pitcher looks fantastic; tipped on its side, it does not leak; it fits in the door of my fridge; I can fit my hand inside the pitcher with a sponge or dish towel, so it's easy to get it clean/dry.

Cons: The pitchers I got had green stickers on the lids. Peeling them off left very stubborn adhesive. I soaked the lids in hot, soapy water for four hours, only to find the adhesive had spread over half the lids - unsightly, smeary, sticky mess. Takeya Customer Service (by phone) said they were aware of the problem, and that newer models [?] have stickers that are easier to remove. Are they unloading the examples with the bad stickers two at a time here on Amazon? They told me the stickers require 24 hours of soaking. If that's the case, it should be mentioned in the description, as most customers would have the expectation of being able to use the pitchers the day they receive them.

My solution was to use Goo Gone on the sticker residue. Initially, I hesitated to do that, because sometimes Goo Gone harms the surface of glossy plastic, so that even if it's applied with a tissue, it looks like you used fine steel wool. But that did not happen with the Takeya lids. Goo Gone removed the adhesive, and the plastic looks fine. Be sure to use a very soft cloth.

These are a good product that work well. The seal on the lids is tight no spill and they are easy to fill and clean. After two months of use I do notice one problem that would be nice to fix in future models. These bottles are so tall that when they are near empty or empty they easily topple over. My son the other day opened the refrigerator door and the gar fell on the floor breaking the turn handle on top off. This had happened to me before, but I was alert enough to catch the jar before it left the fridge. Either weighting the bottom or changing the height width ratio may help on future generations, but the concept, lid and how the jar works are all excellent design and functionality.
