Takin No Shortz Is Definatly a must have for any Sacremento rap fan, or Westcoast rap fan or any rap fan period. It keeps it gangsta with 10 tracks of some of the tightest flows and beats ever heard. Its what got me into underground music. This is a no nonscense album. It has 10 great tracks with no bull ... filler songs. its worth every penny.

Hollow Tip's first album, Takin No Shortz is his best album. His follow up, Flawless, wasn't that good, but it was better than what was to come in tha future for him. Tha beats on here are incredible, whether it's a smooth one, or a gangsta beat you can bob your head to. Hollow Tip has one of tha greatest flow's I've ever heard in my life on this album. His flow is so smooth, and it's one of tha fastest I've ever heard. Hollow Tip is also an incredible lyricist. Off The Dome Freestyle is one of tha tightest songs I've ever heard in my life. You have to have this album, or you are missing out on a masterpiece.

This is a classic Sacramento album. Hollow's first, and i think his best, comes with hard flows. Hollow Tips style is different from all the rest, but his Cds are good. Buy this if you like hollow.

Hollow Tip is a very unique rapper. You won't find this kind of music too many places. I know when I bump it everyone's heads turn. the new Flawless album is alright also. Takin no shortz seems to be a little better though.

Hollow's first album is a pinnacle of Sacramento g-rap... To this day I can still put it on any time and listen the whole way through. There is just something about N8 the Gr8's production back then that really is so great, it cannot be defined. I love the snares and loops he uses, it is gangsta on the highest level. His whole use of sound and the atmosphere he creates is just too tight.. The same goes for Troubled Mind, which he also produced for Young Dre D in '96.

Hollow Tip has a crazy flow which he can shift from slow, medium to rapid fire fast paces at any moment he chooses. The guest appearances are all excellent too, especially the exchange of verses he did with J-Mack on "Hoo-Ride Attack". There is good reason for this to have a re-release, being that it is a classic Sactown banger, failproof material and well worth your dollars.

This is my homies first release. It is some real classic material. Hard lyrics with slumping beats. Every song on here is hittin. If you don't know about Hollow you better know. Numerous albums to his credit now and he ain't even on Hi Side records no more. So he's getting his paper. Check out his new DVD and soundtrack called "Mercenary Life". Much respect to my homie putting it down for Sac, but also for putting our hood on the map. A street, North Highlands. Keep reppin Hollow. Also what's up to the mercenaries and Mic-C.

Hollow Tip is one of the livest rappers there is. i've met him before and know enough about him to know he isn't a sell out. live long and prosper hollow tip.... If anyone thinks there is a better free styler or altogether a better rapper that is still underground, feel free to write.......... Puttin it down for North highlands... Hollow Tip is the best fast rapper I've ever heard. His lyrics and style are totally unique and flow unlike any other rapper I've heard. Takin' No Shortz has a lot of sicc and timeless tracks which makes it a klassic. I'm afraid he may have sold out on Flawless though. Time will tell. If you think that takin' no shortz was good and you know of another album that can compare to it let me know cuz the're hard to filter out of all the crap out there
