Book Description

Taking Care of Mom and Dad: A Baby Boomer’s Resource Guide is written for those who are inexperienced at navigating the waters of State and Federal programs. While the book’s title references Baby Boomer’s as caregivers, this book is ideal for caregivers and concerned family members of any age and at any stage. This book provides easy to follow, step-by-step instructions. The information is presented so as to engage the reader in a conversational discussion of issues and solutions common to caregivers. It asks the questions caregivers may be afraid ask, and answers them with the information caregivers need to extend independence for seniors. It dispels many of the myths and misinformation surrounding the various social program qualification processes and empowers them to make good decisions with full knowledge. When read on a device that is capable, the included internet links are clickable and will take you directly to the website referenced.
**This book is best viewed on devices that utilize Kindle Format 8 or higher such as the Kindle Fire, iPad, and PC/MAC.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource July 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is an excellent resource for anyone whose parents are approaching or are at their twilight years. It is very user friendly from the index through the end notes. Not only did I find it helpful, I have already found a couple of resources that will help out in our quest to keep my mother happy and healthy. You will love this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing resource for elder care! September 7, 2012

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It happens to us all eventually: We end up caring for those who raised us as they get older and less capable. This book is an amazing resource for all adult children of elderly parents. I strongly encourage you to read it before you desperately need it. The author uses her personal and professional experience to guide us all through this challenging time with information such as questions to ask a new caregiver and how to qualify for home healthcare under Medicare. Every page has valuable information and the clickable links throughout make this e-book a gem. The price could be twice as much and this book would still be worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!! Very informative.. September 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As a person whose career was in geriatric nursing I found this book to have EVERYTHING one would need when faced with the task of taking care of the elderly. I also was the person to take care of my grandmother as she was dying from lung cancer and this book would of been GREAT if I had it during that time. Thanks so much for all the info Kelli, another great book from you!!

More About the Author

Kelli Davidson is a wife, mother, grandmother, public server, caregiver, canner, yard saler, and learning-to-cooker. She and her husband live in Oklahoma with their beloved miniature Schnauzers Max and Jack. Her mother, daughter and two step-sons live close by. Kelli recently attended the birth of her grandson and relishes this new stage of her life. Her days are filled with her job in government helping to administer a program that allows elders to stay in their own homes instead of going to a nursing home. Her evenings are filled with caring for her mother, extended family activities, writing, blogging, twittering, and Facebooking. That leaves her weekends free for flea markets, yard sales, farmers markets, canning, repurposing projects and learning to cook. Kelli leads a very busy life.
