I'm not sure what another reviewer was reviewing, but this CD is not taken from Dinah Shore's 1950s TV appearances. This is a compilation of songs from her Capitol albums, with the majority of the songs coming from DINAH, YES INDEED! and FABULOUS HITS OF DINAH SHORE.
The sound quality of this CD is excellent -- these are stereo recordings from the era of hi-fidelity recording. Some of the song titles are the same as hits she had in the 1940s, but these versions were re-recorded in the late 1950s for stereo LPs. If you have Dinah's Capitol albums on CD, you don't need this compilation. If you don't want to spend the money on the import of DINAH, YES INDEED!/FABULOUS HITS OF DINAH SHORE, this is a great low-cost alternative.

...but the other reviewer clearly didn't understand that one star is *bad* and five stars are *good*. Poor Dinah Shore doesn't deserve an accidental pan.

Beautiful Music,

I have always liked Dinah's easy style. Too many of her albums listed are all her early music. This is great because it is the TV years where I remember Dinah. Her warmth comes through. these songs are timeless.

Great music from Shore's 50's TV show...,
This review is from: Taking a Chance on Love (Audio CD)
Dinah Shore is arguably the best middle of the road pop singer, who much like Rosemary Clooney and Doris Day can make the transition from pop singer to jazz singer, and since Shore could sing jazz so well when given the oppritunity, she also sang pop music really well, making her much more listenable then talentless hacks of the era like Teresa Brewer and Joni James, or the awful Patti Page. This exellent CD gets it's music from Shore's 50's TV shows. She sings and does she ever sing wonderfully. Here she uplifts a few standards and a couple of her old hits. overall an enjoyable set from the worlds most under-rated jazz singer.
