Taking Charge has been updated--Rules and Tools for Leaders,
By A Customer
This review is from: Taking Charge: Making the Right Choices (Mass Market Paperback)
I have rewritten and updated Taking Charge. It has a new title. Rules and Tools for Leaders. It was published in 1998 and ever since I was interviewed by Katie Curic on the Today Show on 23 February 1999, Rules and Tools has been selling like hot cakes. Even made #2 on the amazon.com best seller list--briefly.

Outstanding book for any supervisor or leader.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Taking Charge: Making the Right Choices (Mass Market Paperback)
MGen Smith uses his vast leadership and management experience in the military to provide real-life examples of the many and varied situations any leader encounters. Even though most of his experience is related to the military, virtually all of what he has to say applies to any type of business or organization. The book is broken down into logical chapters and concludes with some excellent checklists to help address a variety of situations. It makes an excellent book for a new manager or supervisor. In fact, I recently appointed a new supervisor and I loaned him my copy to read. If he uses half of what he learns from the book, he will be successful. Definitely one of the best and most straight-forward how-to books about leadership.
