Inaccurate information, poor grammar, how was this even published?, May 1, 2010

I can not recommend this book. I have 12 years of experience in this industry and I bought this book to share with my new employees. From the moment I started to read it I knew something was wrong. Even the simply and common terminology was misunderstood by the author. He writes about "none qualified" as a category when it is actually "Non Qualified". If you want to learn about this business do yourself a favor and read one of the many trade publications. Good luck!

More To Like Than Not, September 19, 2010

For any MLS in the payment processing industry this is an excellent book for learning more about interchange, and how to read a merchant statement. It also has many helpful tips for working with an ISO. (industry jargon intentional). Perhaps what I like MOST about this book is the authors refreshing attitude towards serving the merchant. He also emphasizes (correctly) the importance of a good work ethic in order to have success in this field. The books main shortcoming is it's grammar. It's obvious that English is the author's second language, which for me is not a problem. What kept running through my mind as I read it was how difficult it'd be for me to attempt to write a book in another language. That being said, I do fault the editor(s) - or lack thereof - for not taking care of it. It's still a very readable book. The editing issue is my main reason for giving it a "3 star" rating vs. a "4", because I know for some the second language issue will be a distraction. I'm glad I got the book, but feel it'd be a better value at a reduced price. On the flip side, if you're a salesperson in this industry it's probably worth it, as there are not NEARLY enough books like this in the payment processing industry.

A Must Read for Business Owners and for Industry Reps, May 10, 2010

I too have been in the industry for over a decade and have known Mariusz for years. He is one the the best in the industry, and his passion for honesty and integrity shines through in this book. Mariusz takes the time to put his years of experience in written form for us all to enjoy and learn from. I appreciate him putting his heart on his sleeve and showing all of us that good guys can win in business too. I have personally witnessed him grow a large portfolio in the industry by telling his clients the truths and the secrets in this industry and never giving into the status quo to hide fees and manipulate comparison quotes just to win new business. His character is evident throughout this book. But more evident, is his desire to put in simple words everything he has learned over the years in a detail we can all understand. For Business Owners - You will read a great story of business success while learning the truths and secrets of a very complex and manipulative industry. He has lived the American Dream and shares his passion in the pages of this book. His knowledge will quickly lead to savings and profits you never realized. Numerous business owners from small to very large clients, have benefited from this book and his guidance. For Industry Sales Professionals- You will read about how a fellow industry professional that won in this business by upholding his integrity and helping others along the way. You will see why we all stay in this industry and why long-term we could not have asked for a better profession. Mariusz is a walking example of the best of what merchant services can offer. So, get the book, read it cover to cover twice as I have, and learn from one of the most sincere guys in the industry today. Trust me, you will profit from his words within the pages of this book.
