I am so grateful to David Watts, MD for his poetry. The poems wake doctors up, tell us how we are, what we struggle with, how we can categorize people, how our egos can get in the way of good medicine, how we can learn from our patients and be better doctors. I use this powerful little book of poems to get doctors talking, then writing of their own experiences, both as doctors and as patients. It's powerful medicine.
