4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth exploring, November 22, 1999

This review is from: Taking Sides: America's Secret Relations With a Militant Israel (Paperback)
A bit daunting for those who are just taking their first steps into looking at Middle Eastern affairs. Otherwise, Stephen Green has compiled a excellent review of US documents that adds light to the relationship between Israel and its main ally. Well worth exploring for anyone interested in the background behind the conflicts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eye-opening, recommend it to EVERY American; WELL documented, December 23, 1998

Its a pity most of us are so unaware of the "real" foreign policies -- the ones NOT mentioned on the news. Most people would dismiss this book as propaganda, but before you do so, why dont you give this book a read? It wont hurt, and you will come out a different american after reading it. They book documents EVERY paragraph so well and there should be no doubt on any fact mentioned, leaves a great deal of further research one can pursue to examine more about what weve never been told

This review is from: Taking Sides: America's Secret Relations With a Militant Israel (Paperback)
This book is excellent in the fact that it uses primary source documents to prove it's thesis: Israel's existence, far from divine prophecy, was brought about by invading Palestine (a soverign country),running guns and other weapons from Czech.(at that time still a Soviet Bloch country) in addition to having training camps located there, and killing innocent Palestinians; all the while publically calling for "peace". I am surprised that the usual screeds of "anti-semitism" haven't been posted here, as anything that is even remotely critical of Israel is deemed blasphemous. One other interesting aspect of this book is the conflict amongst the Zionist factions inside the U.S. government as to how much support we should lend the fledgling state so as not to create an imbalance within the larger Middle-East sphere. Obviously our position has grown to the monstrous policy we presently have which benefits no one, Israel included. If you want to know the root of all our troubles in the ME, read this book!
