I ordered this book for a history course about the American Century, 1900-2000. I am not a history fan by any means, however this book has turned me into a history fan! It is written in debate style. A question about history is posed and there are 2 differing opinions about the question topic. Each opinion is written by either a historian or professor of history with all the pertinent facts about the historical event. It is well written and keeps the readers' interest which is a must for me! I recommend this book not only for a history course, but also for the person wishing to enhance their knowledge of American History.

I will not question the quality of this book. As a textbook, it uses sophisticated language to address problems which is fine since it's a book about history. I, myself, am a history major person and I bought this textbook for the requirement of my college history course. There is an issue here about this book, the ISBN number conflicts with the edition number.
