Besides asthma, they cover allergy and allergy-related conditions, ranging from colic to eczema and from itchy eyes to earaches. They explain symptoms, diagnoses, triggers, and treatments (at home and by the doctor), and they forthrightly discuss medications and therapies that are not recommended for children. They offer suggestions on managing a child's condition on a daily basis--at home, at school, and while traveling--and they advise parents on how to negotiate the managed-care health system. It is a decent book. Not light reading though. I did like the discussion about the various vaccines and when to definitely stay away from certain ones. This is not something I have found in other books on childhood allergies. If I have a criticism of the book, it is only that they did not address vaccines as being a cause of food allergies.
