Growing up with Norma Klein,

"Taking Sides" still sits on my shelf 30+ years after I first got it at 11 years old. It was the first book by Norma Klein I had ever read. I read her for the next 15 years, until her death. Everything she has ever written sits on my shelf. She wrote children's books, young adult and adult novels and I have them all.
She had a gift for understanding teens, and writing stories we all could relate to. It saddens me to this day to know that the books I have are all there will ever be, that I wasn't able to get through middle age reading her as I did through my teen years. |
