Book Description

BETHIA -- Bethia's heart was broken. Hannish, the man she loved, chose another and to avoid seeing them together she fled to her beloved aunt in England. But when she came back two years later she found the MacGreagor home she grew up in deserted and the village burned to the ground. Now she had no where to go, she was injured and two Englishmen were chasing her. To her amazement, it was Hannish who came to her rescue. Scotland offered her sanctuary, but did she come back too late for love?

ALISON -- As hard as she tried not to, Alison was falling in love with Ben, a man who loved animals as much as she did. But Comine MacDuff wanted a wife and once he saw Alison, he was certain she was the one. He was also certain the MacGreagor giants would never let her go. Kidnapping her was the only answer, but finding her alone and within his reach was impossible. Then one night his luck finally changed.

KADICK - Abandoned by her mother at birth, Kadick was different. She had a birthmark on one side of her face that some believed was a curse. Shunned by the men in the MacGreagor clan she was determined to seek a husband in England. For Laird Neil MacGreagor and several unmarried men in want of wives, going with her offered adventure. Yet in a world full of strangers who feared her, could finding acceptance and love for the delightful Kadick lead to more heartache?

GLORIE - As a willing English bride, Glorie agreed to leave her home and go with the MacGreagors to Scotland. At first she was smitten with Moan, but Burk had other ideas. Yet love would not come easy - neither spoke the other's language. Glorie was also headstrong and had her own ideas of how things should be done. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before she managed to put her chances for marriage in danger by enraging Neil.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You November 27, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This series is wonderful! The writing is beautiful. It makes me want to see Scotland... and I'm of German decent!

I recommend starting with The Viking. I warn you to set aside all appointments and be prepared for chores to go undone. Every story contains romance, war, and the obvious love of the author for the people and places. When a couple married I was thrilled, when a child was born I smiled, when trouble came I longed to know how they would solve it, when a plaque hit I cried over the loss of "friends" and at the end of each book I quickly moved to the next. The author thoroughly drew me in from the first story. Like a drug I could not go without reading about these people for more than a few hours.

The only issue I have with this series is one I would classify as an editing or printing problem (as my husband is a printer I'll happily blame the editing). There are several misspelled words and misused punctuation. It stops the flow while it is determined what the author meant. While distracting it does not, nor do I think should it, distract from the beauty of these stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Talbot's Highlander Series March 15, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is my FIRST EVER REVIEW OF ANY BOOK. So pardon me if I seem to gush a bit too much about Marti Talbot's highlander series. However, I simply must express my appreciation to Ms. Talbot for creating this fascinating, intriguing, wonderful series. I am now retired and have resumed my passion for reading highlander and viking romances. I normlly read about 6 books a week on my Kindle. Recently, while surfing for books in this genre, I discovered her Highlander series and read her first book in the series. It was so engaging that I simply put everything aside in order to read the ENTIRE SERIES. Yes, they are ALL that good! I've found that usually books within a series lack consistent quality. But every book in her series is a non-stop page turner. WARNING! It is nearly impossible to put these books down once you start reading. You will gladly suffer lack of sleep and missed meals but it's worth it. Then I immediately re-read several of the books, which I NEVER do. Yes, these books really are that good! However to get the most enjoyment, read the books in series order following up with Betrothed and The Golden Sword.

For me it is rare to find an author who consistently creates well written romances where from page 1 you, the reader, are completely sucked into the story. Buy this series if you like stories with strong hunky heroes, fiesty smart heroines, action, adventure, and true romance. You won't find overwritten erotic sex scenes in this series...just pure sweet romance which is so much better but hard to find in today's romance genre where just 10% of the book is plot and 90% is soft porn sex. Don't get me wrong, but it's just so refreshing to read a romance where the characters drive strong plots with exciting action and great dialogue.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best writer! May 16, 2014

I must say that I am truly impressed by Mari Talbott's ability to keep me invested in characters. There is a lot of romance in her series, but they are very tasteful and so far they have not entered into the erotic and I hope they never do (they don't need to). I've only read up to Series 3, and the pre-quel but I download 2 when I finish each book. I have not been able to put them down. This series is a must read!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Still loving it! April 13, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Each story is full of adventure and romance with some humor and some sadness, but it is still one of the best stories I have read. The way the lads love and care for the lasses, defend their clan, and show true courage in the face of danger makes any woman want a MacGreagor warrior of her own! Such a great series, can't wait to start number 5 and see what happens next! Thanks Marti Talbott for a wonderful Scottish highland romance.

More About the Author

After I retired in 2010, I had lots of time on my hands, so I started writing ANNA and just for fun, posted the story on my website for people to read free. ANNA, typos and all, was a huge success, so I wrote the story of Anna's little sister, Rachel, and a third story called Charlet. Charlet was the most fun to write, and after her story, came seventeen more stories of life, laughter and love in the MacGreagor Clan.

I then divided the twenty stories into five volumes and published them as Kindle books. Like my readers, I could not say goodbye to my characters, so after the first five, I wrote nine more novels, bringing the total to fourteen. The Viking is a prequel to the series. Now, and to my amazement, my Highlander Series is being read all over the world.

Before my grandparents passed, they wrote a journal about their courtship in the early 1900's. Thus, Marblestone Mansion was born. There are now nine books in that series with one more to come.

Seattle Quake 9.2 was written years ago and since then I have added two more books to the Jackie Harlan Mysteries. The Carson Series was already written before I retired.
