5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful Animated Video, January 27, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Tale of The Flopsy Bunnies & Mrs. Tittlemouse [VHS] (VHS Tape)
There is no ballet in this video. Instead it is a delightfully animated version of Beatrix Potter's stories, "The Flopsy Bunnies" and "Mrs. Tittlemouse". Flopsy bunnies continues the story history of the Peter Rabbit & Benjamin Bunny families. Now Benjamin is grown up and married to his cousin Peter Rabbit's sister, Flopsy. They have 6 baby bunnies refered to as the Flopsy bunnies. In this story once again Benjamin Bunny along with his children gets into trouble in Mr. McGreagor's garden. During that part of the story we are introduced to Mrs. Tittlemouse which smoothly transitions us to her story. This video is accompanied by a bonus music CD. The music is from all the Peter Rabbit Collection videos and it is lovely.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent animation including a cd of the soundtract, May 7, 1999

Leonard Maltin's review is misleading as there is no ballet involved in the beautifull animation of Beatrix Potter's illustrations of her delightful parables for children.

-which includes at least 15 "Disney Classics." The animation is high quality and done with great respect for Beatrix Potter's style. There are many more than those offered by Amazon - so if anyone is listening out there: GET MORE!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Purchase -- Tale of The Flopsy Bunnies & Mrs. T, June 2, 2005
This review is from: The Tale of The Flopsy Bunnies & Mrs. Tittlemouse [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Imagine Mr. McGregor's glee when he captures 6 sleeping bunnies! His mind runs rampant with dreams of selling them and buying some luxuries, like `baccy'. Fortunately Mrs. Tittlemouse comes to the rescue in the two-story adaptation of the Beatrix Potter's stories of the Flopsy Bunnies and Mrs. Tittlemouse's own adventures with an unwelcome house guest.

One of the things I really like about this video is that the producers have toned down the scary parts of the original Flopsy Bunnies story. They have done this principally by tone and pacing so that the imminent demise of the darlings is not so ghastly. The original is scary (in my opinion) and I have chosen not to read it to my children. This video though is very suitable for before-bed watching.

Unlike the Peter Rabbit video this one did not follow the original story as closely, still, 5 stars for a very good video worthy of a child's video library.

We have enjoyed this video along with the others in this particular series over the years. The videos are very true to the written stories, they are beautifully rendered in water color like animated scenes, and they have wonderful background music. They are definately worthwhile viewing!
