About the Author
Mary B. Cooper is an award-winning artist whose childhood was spent in rural Maine. Her early education was grade school in the front room of the family farmhouse, her entertainment exploring the fields and woods with her brother. After Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine, it was Oberlin College that first introduced her to Ohio, with later job opportunities and marriage keeping her there. The stories she wrote for her suburban Ohio children about the adventures of her very different early fife are now being taken off the back shelf and illustrated for the next generation.
