5.0 out of 5 stars Up To Snuff!
You can disregard the warning above concerning the printing error. I got in touch with the publisher and was assured that it was a fluke with that one copy. The copy I received bears this out. Also, if you look at the comments attached to that review, you'll find an assurance from the man himself, Russ Cochran, that this is the case. I love what Mr. Cochran has done...

3.0 out of 5 stars Printing Error...Beware!
I love these EC Archives books and own most of them. I just received Volume 3 of Tales from the Crypt and was very disappointed to see that due to a printing error, two stories are duplicated ("Grounds for Horror" & "Sucker for a Spider") while two other stores ("A Rottin' Trick" & "Bored to Death") are omitted entirely. I have to imagine that many if not all copies of...

I have to imagine that many if not all copies of this volume are similarly misprinted. I contacted Gemstone Publishing and am awaiting a response as to how they are going to resolve this, but it may be worth holding off on buying this volume until after the issue has been corrected.

Also, if you look at the comments attached to that review, you'll find an assurance from the man himself, Russ Cochran, that this is the case. I love what Mr. Cochran has done with the EC line over the years and, other than the problem with the recent Weird Science volume (see my review for that if you want to know more), these archives, when they are right as Mr. Cochran intends them to be, continue to be of the highest quality. Amazon's price fluctuates quite regularly, though, between approximately 30 and 50 dollars, so you may want to get it "used" here or new elsewhere. For some reason the price seems to change coincidentally as the book goes in and out of stock at Buy.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars YAAAAAAAAAAAAH...More creepy goodness., March 3, 2009
This review is from: Tales From the Crypt Volume 3 EC Archives (Hardcover)
The Ghoulunatics once again spin yarns to keep you awake at night wondering what that strange noise might be outside.

Here, we are once again treated to six spine-tingling issues that will take you to strange islands, introduce you to not so imaginary friends, and even reveal the Crypt-Keeper's origins.

If you're reading this review you're either already a fan and curious about what others are saying, or you're a newcomer that's unsure what you might be getting into. Well newcomers, I can assure you you can't go wrong. Don't worry about your kids being 'desensitized', they won't be. I was no more than five when I picked up my first Crypt and have never looked back. Though some of these stories will have you peering over your shoulder from time to time, just to be sure no one's there.

Now, shut the lights down, stop that corpse from screaming and get reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where are the rest from this series?, July 19, 2010

This book whetted my appetite for the rest of the EC Archives series. However, after an extended wait, it appears there will be no more. How unfortunate. This oversize, top-quality publication is such a treat.

This latest edition of Tales From the Crypt is awesome! I love being able to pay only a little over thirty bucks to enjoy these fantastic and twisted tales. The binding is top notch, the colors are full and vibrant, and it is sooooooooo much cheaper than paying $100 plus an issue on ebay. There are some who find the coloring inconsistant with the original artistic scheme, so this might not be for them. But overall I am having a blast reading these brilliant books!

THE QUALITY OF PRODUCTION DESERVES 5 STARS BUT THE SUPER SLOW AND EVEN NON-EXISTENT PRODUCTION SCHEDULE DESERVES A NOTHING. HEY RUSS, HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TO COMPLETE OUR SETS? I FOR ONE WON'T BE LIVING FOREVER! WHERE THE HECK IS 'HAUNT OF FEAR'? SOMEBODY LIED TO ME WHEN I WROTE THE PUBLISHER ALMOST A YEAR AGO AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT THEIR TROUBLES WERE OVER AND PRODUCTION WOULD BEGIN IN EARNEST VERY SHORTLY. LET'S GET PROFESSIONAL HERE, HUH?!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Juvenile, April 7, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tales From the Crypt Volume 3 EC Archives (Hardcover)
My bad, but I haven't been a huge comics fan since my adult reading took off in 2nd grade, circa 1963. I remembered enjoying some horror and sci-fi comics from 1960 to say '68, and wanted to revisit some of those old ones. Problem:could not remember the titles. Based upon reviews here I bought several of these Crypt collections and was sadly disappointed. They resemble Mad magazine more than I can stomach; the whole "Crypt Keeper" and so on I find embarassing. These "Golden Years" comics are more juvenile than later publications of lesser fame. These later comics relied far more on literary sources and Fortean Phenomena for story material. I've looked and what I'm looking for does not seem to currently be available. Just have to be patient and sell these on ebay. Not impressed by al Feldstein. The difference is between "Tales From the Crypt" and "The Twilight Zone", (using Television parallels)
