5.0 out of 5 stars Don't miss this book, January 29, 2011
This review is from: Tales from a Distant Planet (Paperback)
Well written and imaginative. I had a lot of fun reading these 7 short stories, better than many boring novel that you can predict the storyline ahead of time or that don't bring anything new to the table. Well done Mr Picano. Give us more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Different and captivating, November 6, 2009
This review is from: Tales from a Distant Planet (Paperback)
A good friend of mine told me to read this book. I love reading short stories, but I had never read a collection quite like this. The subject matter is exciting for me and not the typical run of the mill. I really enjoyed reading this book and learned quite a lot in the process.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tales: from a distant planet, September 21, 2008
This review is from: Tales from a Distant Planet (Paperback)
I did finish reading Tales: from a Distant Planet. Wow! One of seven tales, and the longest comprising over sixty pages (more of novella than a short story) Ingoldsby was gripping and so damn clever. Felice Picano never loses control of his technical devises of the forms he uses: police reports, newsclippings, journal entries to weave his story into a exquisite Persian rug. He interlaced the story with luscious sensuality--very homoerotic. He made it easy for my lazy brain to riffle through the pages snagged by intrigue. I do have to go back to the story because I didn't quite figure out Injun Ralph and how he was integral part of the whole picture. He packed so much details in this novella. I still had to be on my toes of keeping tabs of subtleties of time frame and the ghosts of when & then. Thanks for the fascinating X file story.
