Book Description

October 4, 2002
The Philadelphia Eagles were just a touchdown away from the 2002 Super Bowl. Two decades ago, the Eagles made it to the 1981 Super Bowl. In between and long before, the Eagles thrilled the city of brotherly love with their exciting brand of bruising football. Now, for the first time, author Gordon Forbes gives us a front-row seat to relive the passion that is Eagles football. While covering the Eagles' beat for nine years for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Forbes was there to recount the events, interview the coaches an players, and marvel at the crazy world of pro football. In Tales from the Eagles Sidelines, Forbes writes about the assorted cast of characters who suited up for the Eagles and who thrilled us with their talents and exploits. Some of the tales give new insights into the personalities of your favorite Eagles. Some of the stories are just plain funny, others are strange and colorful, while a few are sad. But all the stories are classics and will entertain Eagles fans of all generations. Tales from the Eagles Sidelines is a must read for every Eagle fan.

For all of you hardcore, old school Eagles fans, this is a great collection of names, bios and stories. Hey, even the players chapter begins with a great story on Vince Papale!! You'll take a trip down memory lane into the 700 level of the Vet as you read through this. Highly recommended - fun to browse through at your Super Bowl party!
