About the Author

Jack Koneazny was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Maritime service and the U.S. Army during World War II, serving two years in the E.T.O. He spent 28 years in the Army Reserves and worked as a tree surgeon until his retirement.Jack and his wife Dottie have lived for almost twenty years on their Bahamas-built sailboat 'Fayaway.' They have cruised the coast of Spain and the Greek Islands. Since his retirement, they have traveled to over thirty-five countries. They spend their winters in Key Largo, FL and summers in the Berkshires of Mass.Colonel Koneazny is the author of the cookbooks Only the Best and The Moose Cook Book now in its sixth printing, Behind Friendly Lines his adventures in World War II, Signal Hoists for Yachtsmen and numerous articles on cooking, boating and gardening.
