i'll have to be honest... i was REALLY skeptical about this CD, but after having just listened to it a few times now, i'd give it a rating higher than 'five stars' if that was an option.
first off, i had never even heard about these guys. secondly, no one i know up here has heard of them either. i live close to fairbanks, alaska, which isn't really known for being a hot spot in christian music, and we're just now starting to break through into that scene (tree 63 performed a charity concert at a local church a few months ago, but the newsboys played here recently at one of the hockey arenas... fairbanks' first christian rock concert). we also have access to KLOVE on the FM radio, but that's pretty much it. that's a great radio station, but they tend to stear clear from the harder alternative/rock that so many people up here love listening to. anchorage is our lifeline to the mainstream music activity from seattle, but we don't always feel the pulse from the actual concerts because we're considered remote. we have to make the trek down to anchorage (or seattle), which is both time consuming and expensive. because of this, we miss out on A LOT of the latest and greatest acts... ESPECIALLY in the christian music arena. with that said, i bought this album on a whim because i had seen a pretty good review for it from tooth & nail records. i received the package in the mail a few days ago, along with a few other CDs. i bought some more new names, but not knowing what to expect from any of them, 'tales of the knife' was the first CD that caught my eye, so i opened it up and played it. it's still the only one that i've listened to. IT'S THAT GOOD! for those of you that don't like P.O.D. or kutless, you may not like this group. but for those fans of the these two groups, i can almost guarantee that you'll appreciate the quality music that this group produces. they're sound is reminiscent to a few groups actually, not just those two, but it doesn't really favor any particular band. i actually like the blending of the styles of music... it makes for a killer sound, but what i absolutely love the most are the lyrics... awesome stuff. there are several songs that will just stand out as immediate favorites (the tunes are already stuck in my head), but the other songs are just as amazing as these. skeptics and critics alike, give these guys a chance if you're willing to. i think you'll find yourselves as pleasantly surprised as i was. lucerin blue has definitely found a new fan in me!

I envy Canada,

I think its a shame this band is almost unknown in the US. I bought the CD for Chorus of the Birds after it got heavy play on ChristianRock.net, but the CD is loaded with quality songs. Like almost all CD's it took a few listens to really get the feel, but tracks #1, 3, and 8 were instantly liked. I've got to say though, that Find Me(5) and Off the Mark(10) were very intense and soulful- worth the purchase price even without the other tracks. If Lucerin Blue would make more frequent forays into the States I really think they'd find a place with the big-name Skillets and Pillars- they're not as artistically mature as those mentioned, but they unquestionably have the talent to get there.

They are VERY good. My favorites are Sunset Blvd., Off the Mark, and Superstar, really good song, PLUS, (I know this has nothing to do with nothing, but...anyways) If you listen on your discman "This Letter" in ONE earphone, you can hear the singer, Justin, just sing without the music for the first like, 20 seconds...wow! lol

I found this CD by accident at a Christian bookstore looking for Falling Up. Once I heard the song The Game I was hooked I bought it a week later. Granted there was a few disappointing songs, but otherwise it was worth the $15.00 dollars I paid for it.
As for the remark from the guy who posted 1 star can suggest you go rate your secular stuff instead of rating Christian music.

Their music is an Experience,

If you have not heard this band, you need to. Lucerin Blue has been on my play list as a constant after album after album cycles through it. Tales of the Knife has so many layers and its ambience is unmatched in rock music. Its relaxing, invigorating, Christian without being obtrusive, and clam yet full of dynamic energy. The guitars and piano are perfectly matched. You can listen to the album many times and still pick up things you havent heard before.
It is a shame I have heard rumor that the band has since broken up. Personally, I am sorry to see them go because they have been my favorite band of all time.
