First off, I am a huge fan of ICP, Twiztid, Blaze, ABK and Lotus, but I felt a little ripped off by the revised edition of Dark Lotus. The reason for this release was because original Lotus member Marz left the group shortly after the release of the original version and began dissing them. After that they decided to put Marz away for good so they let Anybody Killa fill in and write his own stuff and record it over Marz' stuff. That is just what they did. That's it! You have to buy a whole new version of a cd you probably already own just so you hear ABK do a few different verses. Not only that but ABK doesn't fill in for all of Marz' verses either. On "Something" all they did was cut out Marz' verse, they didn't even add a new one, same goes for "I'm Sexy." Also, what happened to the two songs with Three 6 Mafia they promised would be on here? They are not here. Dark Lotus should have just done it right in the first place and put ABK in before Marz. This would have been a cool release if this was the original. I mean ABK is awesome. I suggest getting this only if you don't have the first one though.

1.0 out of 5 stars The cover is nice, April 10, 2004

This review is from: Tales from the Lotus Pod/Ltd (Audio CD)
People know the deal with this CD. The original version had a guy called Marz on it, and a couple weeks after it was released he got kicked from the lineup for reasons nobody can aggree on.
So, many months later this "official" version of the album surfaced.
THE ORIGINAL vesion had red foil printing
THIS version has a gold foil printing
THIS ONE looks much better!
Well, it sounded appealing that they replaced Marz's appearances on the original album with Anybody Killa - someone we've grown to love. It all sounds like a good idea. ABK on an an "improved" version. So, why only one star?

There's something WRONG WITH IT! First of all, it seems Mike P ran into some problems editing Marz out. Marz can be heard many times throughout the album. Often, when Marz isn't evident on a track, adlibs from his verses by Violent J are audible.
Most notably at the end of Anybody Killa's new verse on "Juggalo Family" Violent J clearly screams "D-I-E!!!" (a remnant of Marz's verse on the original version of the song). Marz's voice is still on "Gimme Dat Blood" "Call Upon Your Gods" and "Swarm". Sudden LOUD outbursts of Marz's voice during ABK's verses. It's embarassing how much he's on the album when he was supposed to be cut out. I'm surprised this album was even released.
One of the worst editing problems is on the track "Something" where for some reason, Marz's verse was removed without a replacement by ABK. What happens is that the hook had to be used from a later part of the song to take place of the end of the hook on the original where the beginning of Marz's verse would have been heard.... SO what you hear is the song's hook followed by the END of Marz's verse and a bit of the beginning of Violent J's verse (from a later part of the song) SIMULTANEOUSLY in the middle of the song disrupting Shaggy 2 Dope's verse a bit. HARD TO LISTEN TO! SOUNDS VERY UN-PROFESSIONAL!
AMAZING! Not to mention the cheaply-inserted (and inappropriate) one-line diss to Marz right before "Swarm".

"Hey yo Marz"
"You never was Lotus and you know dis, biotch"

All of this without even considering ABK's verses are corny in comparison to Marz's. On "Juggalo Family" ABK sounds like he has a sore throat. Furthermore, he replaces the words of Marz's part in the chorus ("Say what you will of me") with a phrase that doesn't make sense
"Until eternity"
... There is no "until". Eternity is not an event! Eternity is defined as a state of timelessness - without beginning or ending.

At any rate, a friend once told me that this CD is "so whack it doesn't exist", and I urge each and every one of you to keep that in mind. Just forget it. It simply doesn't exist. Buy the ORIGINAL VERSION. It just doesn't matter what Violent J thinks, the Dark Carnival was with Marz on the original, and the ABK version of this CD was botched.
Except for the cover, of course. I ended up sticking the original Lotus CD into the case of this CD, but believe me, that's the only good thing about this CD. Its cover, and it's not worth the price of the CD.

There's no way I have accurately described how badly messed-up this CD came out. Even by reading this, you still might not believe me. I'm SERIOUS! It's worse than you're imagining it could be. I didn't think it could be so bad either. Just trust me, you will regret it if you buy this CD.
THE ORIGINAL PRINT IS ALL YOU WILL EVER WANT. BUY THAT!

Wassup Juggalos. You really need to get this album if you haven't already done so.This album is the darkest, scariest, illest and best stuff that I have ever heard. Each track will send shivers down your spine. The subjects that are talked about on this album are death, murder, black magic, necromancy, self mutilation, demons and spirits. The perfect subjects for a WICKED album!

1.Intro 5/5 - This is a great intro.Very creepy and it really gets you in the mood for the album.

2.Ali ba ba 5/5 - This has a fast explosive type beat and great rapping. It's about a magical realm of Pyramids, magical lamps, flying carpets etc. There are some very interesting lyrics in this track.

3.Something 5/5 - Slow, dark creepy beat.Excellent lyrics. This track is about having voices in your head taunting you and making you do messed up things.

4.Hurt myself 5/5 - The title says it all. It's about self mutilation. Very interesting and very dark and creepy.

5.Call upon your gods 5/5 - This is a FANTASTIC track.Great meaning behind this one. It's about people who have lived a life of sin trying to turn to God becasue they know that they are going to Hell when they die but by the time they realise this it's too late.Moral of the track:Always believe in God and accept him in your life.Great beat, great lyrics, top class stuff.

6.We danced 5/5 - This track is funny and rather creepy at the same time. It's about a group of guys going to a Graveyard to drink alcohol and smoke some of that good stuff. While they are in the Graveyard they are joined by the spirits of some dead girls and they dance and chill out together.Funky and light type of beat.Great lyrics.

7.Black magic 5/5 - Very nice track. Dark beat and dark lyrics. This track is about all of lifes mysteries,eg,pyramids, crop circles, stonehedge, blood red moons,Northern lights, hypnosis, exorcisms, etc.AWESOME TRACK. It'll make you think.

8.Gimme dat blood 5/5 - Ever wondered what it would be like to be a Vampire? lol. This track has a really funky dance type beat and awesome lyrics about killing people and drinking their blood. You have to hear this track, you'll be bobbing your head to it in no time, lol.

9.Headache 5/5 - This track is straight up freaky. Both the beats and lyrics are really dark. This track is about being possessed by demons and spirits and feeling helpless. The very thought of it makes you cringe and shiver.

10.Bad rep 5/5 - This track is really funny. It's about being hated by everybody becasue your different and not being able to get any neden.Funny lyrics and a sweet beat.

11.Bitch I'm sexy 5/5 - This track is also really funny. The title says it all.

12.Swarm 5/5 - This is a really interesting track. It's hard to explain, you've really gotta listen to it.Insane lyrics and a hard hitting guitar driven beat.

13.I wanna die 5/5 - This track is really creepy. It has quite a soft beat. It's about wanting to die so you can see what is on the other side of life and so you can find out all the answers to lifes questions.Excellent track.

14.Black crows 5/5 - Once again, dark and scary and awesome. The beat blends really well with the lyrics in this track. It's about being stalked by the darkness of death everywhere you look or go.

15.Juggalo family 5/5 - This is so fresh!!!!!!This track is giving props to all of the Juggalos over the world who make Psychopathic possible. All the Juggalos and Juggalettes will love this track. It gives me a warm feeling inside knowing that the family has got my back.

16.Dot com. I won't rate this track becasue it isn't really a song. This is a shout out to all the web sites on the internet that makes the Juggalo world go round. It's alright, nothing special but I still like to listen to it.

Aight, I hope this has shown you how WICKED this album is.I love this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Deal, December 8, 2002
By
This review is from: Tales from the Lotus Pod/Ltd (Audio CD)
This cd is called the revised version. But origionaly it was titled the REAL DARK LOTUS. The idea behind this cd is that MARZ had some problems with certain members of the group. Marz went out of his way to diss them and so on. So people who have the origional cd don't really wanna listen to someone who ain't even part of the click anymore. Anybody Killa replaces Marz on this cd. Anybody Killa is in my mind much better suited for the style of Dark Lotus than Marz. He is also 100% Psychopathic. That means a lot to REAL JUGGALOS. If you got the origional and you don't mind hearing the man who once claimed himself to be the 6th jokers card (MARZ) then more power to you. But it ain't right. Get this if you down. Don't get it if you gonna whine cuz it ain't ALL NEW

This never should have been re-released with ABK. His lispy speech is to much to take serious and ruins the cd. Marz version is so much better so buy that one instead.

This review is from: Tales from the Lotus Pod/Ltd (Audio CD)
it's the same as tales from the lotus pod except maybe just a couple of new lines in the songs. Don't get me wrong ABK is dope but i really think no one could top off Marz on that cd.

They even took out his parts in bitch im sexy

Really don't buy this unless you don't have the other version

it's just a waste of money

Black Rain was Fresh too

I wonder if they'll do another ABK is gone now

Maybe someone from AMB will fill in

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it Just For Track 15, October 17, 2005
This review is from: Tales from the Lotus Pod/Ltd (Audio CD)
I got this CD after hearing the track 11 or "B*tch I am Sexy." So obviously, I thought it was going to be a funny album. I was very surprised when I started listening to it and it is pretty much like the first Hell's Pit because it is so dark. There are a couple songs that are flat-out hilarious. But most of the songs are hella sick and scary. Now, i always and always give juggalo albums 5 stars because I have usually loved all the songs on other Psycopathic Records, but even as a HUGE juggalo, I have to say, some of these songs were terrible, i mean so terrible you will never listen to them twice. Now, obviously this is a huge album for Psychopathic, and it is a great album. I think what happened was they ran out of beats and used old beats that really didn't sound great. But for a dark rap album this is still good. The best songs are 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 15. Now the reason all juggalos need to buy this album is because of track 15. It's called Juggalo Family, this in my opinion is the most loyal song to Psychopathic ever made.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forget Marz!!!!, June 13, 2005
This review is from: Tales from the Lotus Pod/Ltd (Audio CD)
Ok, Marz was "Never Lotus and you know this"! ABK is way more fresh then Marz. Juggalos know that ABK is much better then Marz. ABK is a part of the carnival!!! The Marz version is good because of..... ICP, Twiztid, and Blaze not Marz. Marz makes Ali-baba sound really stale to me, which reflects the rest of the Album. Psychopathic was right for ditching the idiot named after a candy company? You know, the one that makes MnM's... Marz. What a lame name for a lame MC.
