An excellent collection for family reading,

This collection of legends is designed for school aged children to read alone, or for parents to read aloud. The tales are authentic Hawaiian folklore, not "disneyfied," touristy or cute -- but they are short, simply written, and child-friendly. Reading them aloud gives you a real sense of the power of storytelling... my seven-year-old sits spellbound, big-eyed and entranced, for tale after tale. I'm very impressed and pleased with the book.
