5.0 out of 5 stars By Far Cribbs' best work!, January 29, 2009
This review is from: Tales from the Oldest City: ST. Augustine (Paperback)
Though the "Summer In The Old Town" series is Cribbs' latest, it's "Tales from the Oldest City" that put Randy Cribbs on the map.

In this collection of twelve short stories and 27 or so poems, Cribbs writes about his fondness of St. Augustine, FL (The "Oldest City" In America). As someone who lived in the town, I can assure there is a certain kind of magic of living in a town that is awash with history.

While the stories on their own accord are enjoyable, it's the feeling they invoke about the Old Town that's the real icing on the cake. Because of this, the affections of St. Augustine may be lost on the readers who never visited the city, leaving it's extended meaning as nothing more than an inside joke.

Hey, that's fine with me. Maybe the book can inspire people to visit the Nation's Oldest Town.
