About the Author
Keith is co-owner of Acacia Travel. He graduated from San Diego State University in 1957 in the field of radio and TV direction/production and was hired directly by SAS, Scandinavian Airline, where he did promotional activities and called on travel agents for 13 years. After SAS closed their local office, and Keith refused to move from San Diego, he and his SAS colleague, Elsa Sykes, opened Acacia Travel with the he 'promise' of success due to their contacts with the Scandinavian community leaders and the safaris Keith was handling for the San Diego Zoo. In 1973, Keith was appointed the Chief American Representative for the Nairobi based East African Wild Life Society, a leading conservation organization working to save the endangered species and habitats of East Africa. This position gave him close contact with many African leaders and it kept him close to what was happening, thus enhancing his safari planning for clients. Keith is still the Chief Representative for the Society. After he fell in love with Africa on his first trip in 1970, Keith has returned 44 times to the continent and has visited 17 African nations. As a result, he is considered to be one of the nation's knowledgable agents, and his clients comes from around the USA to plan their special safari. Although Africa is his 'first love,' Keith is not confined to planning only safaris. He has traveled to108 countries now, and emphasizes wildlife and nature in his planning. He's been to all seven continents, and knows how to assist his clients in reaching their dream destinations be it deep in the Amazon Basin, the Mongolian steppes, or the mysterious statues of Easter Island. Though he's of retirement age, Keith feels his 'youth' is due to the love of his profession, and his travels to some really weird parts of the world. His word to his clients is 'Keep on discovering the world, and the more adventurous, the better. It'll keep you young!'
